Question regarding Synthetic Oil
Hello, this question is for anyone who uses synthetic oil in our TLs.
Do you guyz notice a difference between regular oil and synthetic?
And which synthetic oil do i need for my 2000 TL?
Thanks.

There's not much noticeable difference between regular and synthetic motor oil. Having said that, I do feel that the power delivery is SLIGHTLY better (the engine seems more rev-happy). My gas highway mileage has gone up 1or 2 mpg and I have the option of changing oil every 7500 miles instead of 3750 miles. Also, synthetic definitely does a better job of protecting the engine under high pressure.
I have been using Mobil 1 Synthetic with oversized M105 filter. I have had excellent results and would highly recommend it.

Thakn you,
about the filter, I dont change my own oil since I dont have a spot to do it at, do I have to mention to the people that do change my oil about the special filter or should I assume that they know about it?

I have been using Synthetic oil in my last few cars, I really have noticed a difference with higher mileage cars, My last vehicle was a 98 Exploder and it started up much easier after putting synthetic oil in it at 130K. I used to be a big fan of Slick 50, but have found that synthetic works much better for me because I don't have to change the oil as much.
I watch a lot of those Hot Rod car shows on TV and most of the time they will mention putting synthetic in the engine, tranny and differential as a way to prolong the drivetrain and to also improve Mpg.
I put synthetic oil immediately into my 2000 TL when I bought it last month so I can not speak for any difference it made. I will alway run synthetic simply for the chance that it will prolong the drivetrain.
Vandy786, what does the M105 do that a normal oil filter doesn't? I've heard of people going to a bigger filter, but never understood why.
