question regarding mufflers?

I have a 99' acura tl. I want to get new mufflers for the car, but not for performance reasons. I don't wish to change my entire exhaust, because it wouldn't give me all that much power for the price anyways. I want the mufflers for looks and for sound.

Should I dish out money and buy apexi or comptech exhaust, or would i be better off buying generic/ universal exhaust on ebay for like 50 bucks and having it welded on? Thanks.

for look, magnaflows look awesome -> http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/m...reetseries.htm <-
and im sure they sound good, magnaflow is good quality

CT i think the sound is better than any other exhaust even though its expensive and they look nice...or try for the HKS Super Dragers on this site, they need a little extending but they look better and sound great

Personally id go with magnaflows, or CT b/c there made for TL's

IMO the HKS Supper draggers looks and sounds the best. If you keep the resonators on, they are really deep and quiet. But I would pick the Apexi over the Comptech. The Comptechs dont look good to me for some reason.

Did you have to mod the right muffler at all?

I've pretty much decided to not spend too much money on exhaust; I probably won't get mufflers, but I noticed that a lot of ppl on this forum have 3A exhaust tips. How much bigger are they than the stock tips? ..and does anyone know where I can buy these?

At ANY Autozone, PepBoys or Kragen. You can even try Walmart. The common size is 9 x 3 and a pair should cost you around $50.

I went to Kragen today to look at the 3A round tips. They had two kinds. One fit up to pipes of 2.5 and was a little bit bigger than the stock tips ( part number = 8419514). The other kind fit pipes of 2.75 and was much bigger than stock tips (part number= 8419350). They were both priced at $25..which one do I buy/ which one will fit?
