Question regarding AEM CAI w/ Bypass Valve

This weekend I installed my AEM CAI along with a bypass valve. I placed the bypass valve, right before the first bend of the intake pipe. The whole installation went great, the only thing I noticed was when I closed my hood. It seems to rest on the bypass valve. I can see where the foam is slightly smashed. Has anyone else experienced this problem before??

That seems kind of high if the hood is hitting the by-pass. The by-pass should be installed as low as possible. Click the link in my sig for my website as I have pics of my intake.....
