Post Question about WW wing install

Hello again,

I also had my WW wing installed today. The problem is that the rear of the wing overhangs the trunk by about half an inch. Is this normal? I felt underneath the part sticking out, and there's this cushiony(sp?) thing there, so it appears as if this should be resting on the trunk lid... but I'm not sure. The body shop told me that they couldn't fit the wing so the rear was flush with the rear wall of my trunk. Could anybody help?? I love the spoiler, but this is really bugging me.

Thanks much,
UCLAtl

I just dropped my wing off this weekend to get painted. I set it on the trunk when I got it and it sure looks to me like it should be flush. Sounds like they drilled the holes in the wrong spot while installing yours. Post a pic so we can see what it looks like.

Sorry to hear it man, but your instincts are correct. There should be no overhang where the spoiler meets the trunk lid. That cushiony thing you feel is the 3M tape that should be on the trunk.

Like 99WDP said, the shop prolly drilled the holes in the wrong location. I'd take it back and make them do it right, which means removing the spoiler, redrilling, remove/reinstall 3M tape, and repositioning spoiler.

I know this prolly sounds like a pain, but the install should have been pretty straightfoward, esp for a shop. I installed the spoiler myself in like 20 min.

If THEY drilled the holes in the wrong place and have to re-drill more holes, I'd demand THEY buy you a new trunk! I wouldn't want 4 holes in my trunk, water and crap can get in.

They probably tried to take the easy road and use the factory wing drill points. Too bad for them it doesn't match the WW points. Mine were close to the factory points, but using it would of been a mistake.
