Question about the transmission oil "heater"

Hey guys, I have had the transmission in the 2001 TL rebuilt and they put in a Odyssey dual-port inlet/outlet adapter on in place of the stock oil "heater" that the car normally comes with. That was done to fit a large external oil cooler behind the front bumper.

Now, I want to remove the "heater" since it is not bolted in properly anymore. Does anyone know the sizes of the coolant lines that run to it?

I know they are two different sizes, but I wanted to pickup a reducer hose barb fitting to bypass it and hook the two hoses together. I figure someone much have done it already. Getting to that whole setup is a PITA so I wanted to get the reducer first and have it on hand.

Thanks

Not sure of the sizes.
If #1 & #2 (on link below) are the hoses you are referring to, search those part #'s or call the dealer. Maybe they have the specs?

or buy a caliper and measure it yourself!

Yeah, I already have a caliper, I just don't want to tear it all apart to put it all back together to get it done.

Zeta, thanks for the link, yeah it is #1 and #2.

I am thinking 1/4" x 1/2" based on the sizes of the hose clamps (12.5mm and 18.7mm which correspond to a 6mm hose and a 22mm hose which are roughly 1/4" and 1/2" ID respectively).

I will pick up a hose barb reducer and post up if it works well...

Well, went out and measured when I put the new battery hold-down in... .508" for the larger pipe and .382" for the smaller... So 1/2" and 3/8" it looks like.

Makes a lot more sense than 1/2" and 1/4", to be honest.

I also swapped out the cabin air filters... They were DISGUSTING!

Looks like they were from 2013 if I was reading the date codes correctly... Probably done around 130-140k miles.

Lots of leaves and other garbage was in there as well... Got all of that out and it does seem to blow quite a little bit stronger, but I was actually expecting a bigger difference.

I ended up using the Fram fresh scent filters. If they are too restrictive, someone let me know and I will switch them out for something else.
