question about tranny

My wife just got 03 tl-p about 3 weeks ago.
And I'm noticed when I shift from reverse to drive(D5) there have 1 or 2 second delay. I felt like the car jerk forward a little bit about 1 or 2 second after I shift to D5 from reverse.
And also when I drive on D5 ,5 second before the car shift to 3rd gear, sometimes the car stutter.
Her Accord doesn't do that.
As soon shift from reverse to drive, I don't fell any jerk or anything.(really smoth)
Do you think it could be the tranny going bad?
What's the warranty on the factory tranny the one come with the car?

You need to register your car with acura's warranty center by VIN number
Can store radio and nav code in secure file there for free to
https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp?brand=acura

that will tell you if 109k miles/7 year or the newer 5/50
If its trans prob we can help you get warranty regardless- UNLESS its salvage/rebuilt title on the car

The N-D5 delay of a second- 2 gentle thunks into gear, delay is normal
If it does that between gears while driving- problem
read on the acura site for official symtoms- if in doubt- let the dealer check it out
If they cant reproduce or find prob now- you have documented the prob now- so later you can can out of limits coverage

try driving at 35 and 45- steady light throttle
stomp on gas and as it downshifts listen for noises and push the gas- does it rev without the car going faster?

This one?

The warranty is actually now 109,000 miles or 7 years 9 months, whichever comes first.

See page 11 of the settlement document.

I did register the car today.
I'll call the Acura dealership tomorrow.
Because there have a recall for 200-2003 and early 2004 TL for the transmission.
Thank you...

I called the acura customer service, and they said the tranny recall work has been done on the 2005.

When you registered on acura.com there was a screen that should have said
RECALL- oil jet kit- FIXED that means that has been done
that was to install an external oiler to 2nd gear
NOT the same problem we suffer from, or the reason for the extended WARRANTY

and the next lines should say
Warranty Extension- OPEN
that means you have 7 year+9 month or 109k miles trans warranty

They have MOSTLY fixed the problem on the rebuilt units they have been building/installing since 2005. The problem is not totally fixed- but the new ones are WAY better
Get em while their free!!

Even the gen 3 cars are having trans probs!!
