Did you remove both? The smaller resonator and the big one?

no rasp here (when i had the stock exhaust like that). Putting one or a different on back on would put it to the state it was before hand.

So i went back to the shop at had it done at and he found nothing wrong with it. Since i am good friends with the guy he gave me a 26 inch glasspack resonator and it got rid of the rasp 100% and it now sounds just the way i want it to sound. You can hear it when the windows are down but no drone and no resonance or rasp. I can hear the difference on the inside because i know what it sounded like stock. Nobody else that rides with me will be able to tell the diff inside the car unless i have the windows down. thanks for the help though

When you mean rasp, what does it sound like?

And what's a glasspack resonator?

LOL gotcha. I did a search on glasspack resonator. Looks like it cost about 50 bucks for one. Now I'm torn, I don't want to have rasp and I don't really want to spend another 50 for the glasspack. I think I'm just going to remove the muffler looking resonator and keep the smaller one on? Anyone with just the bigger resonator removed have an opionion for the TL-S?

if your just goin to remove the mid muffler your good thats what i did in the first place but i went back and got the other one removed for a little bit louder tone and of course i get quarters lol but just the mid muffler removal ive heard no cases of raspy-ness nor did i experience any as for both removed you know were i stand on that lol but i think im goin to do the same and just add the glasspack resonator.

for artl-s did you removed both resonators at the same time or one after another because im wondering if the glasspack is going to give the same sound as it was when i just had the mid muffler removed with the resonator still in????

Okay I know this has been talked about a million times. I just want to make sure because I only want to do this once.
So if I remove the resonator and the mid muffler and add a glasspack I'll get ArTL-S sounding exhaust.
If I remove the resontor and the mid muffler and just straight pipe I'll get VoLLy_1llusioNz sounding exhaust and some individuals have experience rasp when having both removed while others have not had that issue?

Well every exhaust on every car will sound different but for the most part yes you are coorect. If you do what i did it should sound like mine. If you just remove the 2 and add a straight pipe you will sound more like Vollys. You might have rasp but you might not. I do know for 100% sure that i have no rasp with my setup

I only removed the mid-muffler of my stock exhaust and replaced it with a straight pipe the shop provided for me. My car (02 TL-P) only came with just the mid-muffler and it didnt come with any other resonation mufflers. im not sure if this will affect the difference in sound for those with the two resonation mufflers.

Talking Worst Mod Ever! Becuz....

Okay I just did this Mod this morning. I spoke with the muffler guys and they recomended just taking the mid muffler off and leaving the resonator, becuz I might get a higher twiny sound. So they took it off and replaced it with just straight pipe. I was gonna ask him to put in a glass pack but it was going to cost additional 40 bucks. So took it off and they saw how I sprayed painted the back of my exhaust, they helped sprayed the rest of the pipe and the small resontator black for me. So why is this the worst mod ever? Well becuz now I like the sound so much better that I feel like my foot heavier on the gas lol and now I wasting gas! Just so I can hear the sound of the exhaust. This is the perfect Mod for individuals that want just a little more sound but dont want a whole system. Highly recommend it.

Thanks everyone for posting their videos and opinions it really helped with my decision!

wow you have a very clean underbody and the pipes are pretty spiffy too, nice! lol

i have just the big resonator taken out and replaced with a straight pipe and am now thinking of putting a dynomax or magnaflow or any other resonator on in place of it.. will the sound go back to stock or will i get a louder, deeper exhaust note? its been out for almost a year now i think?

^^^ lol. Thanks...... So you still have the stock resonator(the one that looks like an apple juice can) but you removed the mid miuffler(more of an oval)? If thats your setup im not sure how it would sound. It might tone it all the way down to a stock sound or just a hair louder.

nolimitdec- if you just removed the mid muffler there is no need to add a aftermarket resonator your only going to run into the raspy noise when you have both the mid muffler and the factory resonator removed F.Y.I

^^ damn i looked for that thread for a while yesterday lol, is the search working now? i havent tried it lately..

i didnt get the other smaller one removed because of the rasp issue people talk about and because i might go with a good muffler set up if i can find one and i dont want to F up the muffler sound with both res. taken out..
