Post Question about Redline Water Wetter

I just picked up a bottle of this stuff and I wanted to know how much to use. Do I just add it to the reserve coolant tank, or directly into the radiator??? I have a 50/50 water antifreeze mixture in there now. Should I just pour the whole bottle into the reserve tank??? Or do I drain the system first??? Also, if i drained the old coolant, would it be ok to run a 50/50 mixture of just water and water wetter??? I live in Florida so I don'ty think I really need too much antifreeze.

The best way to do is to pour it directly into the radiator. Wait until the car is COLD, the open the radiator cap and pour it in. Whatever left over, pour it into the reserve tank.

I also have waterwetter in my TL. Poured it in the day after I picked it up from the dealership.

I opened up my radiator and the coolant level is up to the neck of the radiator. I cant put any more liquid into the radiator. Does this mean I have to drain my radiator??? Also, my reservoir tank is full also. Should I just dump all the water/antifreeze thats in the reservoir and pour all the water wetter into the reservoir???

If it is full, then you might need to drain it a little. Just drain a little and then pour the waterwetter into the radiator.

I too am curious as to what this "water wetter" is.

Well, water wetter is a chemical substance that is used for better heat transfer between the engine block and the water.

To give you an analogy, water wetter is similar to silicone used on CPU's. The heat sink and fan are similar to the water, and the water wetter is like the silicone to reduce the contact resistance betweent he surfaces, which helps in better heat transfer.

Supposedly, the water-wetter has reduced the engine temperature by several degrees in certain circumstances.

I got it.
Those of you that have used it, have you really noticed any kind of advantage to it, or are the results really only apparent in engine life and engine performance when the car is older?

I used it in my Integra after turbocharging it -- I figured it could use all the help it could get with that turbo sitting so close to the radiator. Since the TL's cooling system is far from overtaxed, I don't think it would do much for it, but I could be wrong.

Water wetter eh?...hmmm...

I think this is to make the water more wet than it already is

Well, I'm no expert, but this seems redundant.
