does anyone know if the obx headers are any good for acura tls or is the comptech better?

 

Comptech is gonna be better, it's a better fit and it's a better quality. OBX is A LOT cheaper and the quality is probably not as good, but performance wise, they are just about the same. I got the OBX because I couldn't justify spending $1000 on something I could get for $300. That's just me though. *knock on wood, but the OBX has been pretty good to me.

 

so for someone thats gonna keep his car for years to come should consider the comptech? i dont think i will be selling my car in the next 2 or 3 years.

 

I am in the same boat...want headers and plan to keep the ride for a few more years. Its hard to say though, even if the OBX's have problems in say a year or so, you can buy 3 sets before you pay the same as 1 set of Comptechs!!! Man, even if they have a weld prob, just get it fixed, I also cant imagine spending a G on headers when you can get very similar results from $300. Ill be getting the OBX or Stone unless I can find some cheep used Comptechs.

 

Keep in mind that Comptech products actually increase the value of your car for resale purposes. OBX headers will actually decrease the value as the dealership will want to replace anything that is not Comptech. Honda and Comptech scratch each others backs.

I doubt it would make that much of a difference anyway. also the dealer will never give you shit for your car as a trade in, you should always try to sell it to another person way before you lose hella $$$ to a dealer. So get whatever mod you want IMO.

 

I would NEVER buy anything with an engine mod 2nd hand! let alone pay more for it! That's like buying a 4x4 allready lifted.

thats tru most people out there when u say "i changed the headers with the comptech" not everybody want a car thats modify. What if an older person with kids, wife just want a nice sedan for his family.. If you say oh "the only thing i changed in the engine were the headers" That person is not gonna be like "OH is it by comptech" get my drift just my thought.

 

anybody know what's the best place and cheapest that sells the obx header?
