Question Question about Comptech Springs

If you get the lowering spirngs from Comptech to put on a 2002 TL-S, will you need shocks to go with it, or will stock ones work?

Will the springs cause the stock shocks to wear out faster than normal?

No, you do not need new shocks; the factory ones will work fine. The new springs; however, will cause the stock shocks to wear out faster. (that answers your second question).

Some enthusiasts on this forum (especially the ones with extra money lying around) will recommend that you go ahead and replace the stock shocks with the new springs since you will have the suspension apart, and it will save you some trouble and expense down the road when you have to replace the stock shocks. (actually, this does make a lot of sense)

I chose to just replace the springs, and replace the stock shocks later down the road when they wear out.

Either way, its your call.

If you just want to lower the car, get the Koni yellow shocks that are adjustable and will lower your car about an inch.
