Question Question about bulb wattage

Hi, I am not familiar with the wattage stuff so I need some help. I am thinking about replacement 9006 bulbs for my foglights (looking at Japanese brands like PIAA and MTEC). I saw that most bulbs say it uses 55W, but the one I wanted said 80W. According to the customer help from eBay it is safe to use it but I was wondering what kind of difference there is that may affect my ride.

The prob you may run into is the fuse blowing at the increased load, or increased heat on the glass which is OK. However if you have to replace you definately can't go with the lexan fronts. Would stick with the 55w.

I would also suggest against using bulbs with higher wattage draw. I used a set of higher wattage 9006's in the headlights of one of my old cars, and the bulbs melted after a couple of months.

The higher wattage with teh wiring isnt good unless you put a new relay in iand take the load off the stock wiring. Also those higher wattage lights dont last as long
