Totally agree. Bottom line is, if you like the car, buy it. There are constantly going to be changes, you can't have the new one all of the time (would be nice though)!!

Exactly! If you like the car, don't be so focused on what may come or have regrets about what you have because things are always going to change. Be thankful that you can even afford such a car. There are people out there that struggle to find out where they will be getting their next meal and we are all struggling to upgrade our already nice cars

Go for it as long as you love the car and every aspect of it...That's my 2 cents.

There have been rumors on this forum that the 2003(Fall 2002) TL-S will have 270 HP(up 10 HP) (TL to have 235 instead of 225) because of changes to the valve train and computer programming. I would think this could be accurate and typical Honda-small improvements all the time. I would then think the next big change will not occur until model year 2004 (Fall 2003).

Question Question -- 2003?

I'm new to posting, but have been reading the board for a few months now. Thanks to all for the great insites and information you share.

I am considering the TLS, having liked the CLS but need 4 doors. MotorTrend and some others are forecasting a redesign for 2003 for the TL. Could this really mean that the TLS in current form is a one year production run? And we will see a re-designed TLS in 2003? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I say wait as long as you can and then when you can't hold off any longer, get your TL Type S. Like my fellow members here say, there will always be new changes, but as long as you get your TYPE S, that is kind of special in itself. Like a limited edition, High performance version. I think you know what I mean.

But remember always get it fully loaded, for example with the NAV, then that will hold you off longer too until your next car! ;-) I say as long as the rims look good and you have all the bells and whistles, that is the way to go and be happy for the time being ;-)

Thumbs up

Hello everyone, new to posting here but I post at other Honda related boards quite often, and I just finally registered here. Anyways, as for the next TL, I heard, regardless of what year it is redesigned, that instead of moving to RWD to compete with the likes of the BMW 3-series, Acura will take a page out of the Audi handbook and offer AWD with most of their cars as an option. It would share a variant of the MDX's AWD system, which makes sense...why would Honda spend untold millions developing this wonderful AWD system for one automobile? I also heard that displacement would be bumped to 3.5 liters for both the base and Type S variants, making about 240bhp for the 3.5TL and 285bhp 3.5TL Type S, but it's all rumor right now. I, however, have a hard time disbelieving that Acura would use AWD, it is better for performance oriented drivers than FWD, but RWD is not all-weather friendly, so Honda would keep some of it's "conservativeness." Sounds like a plan.

They should do it. The AWD 3 series is cool.

Well....that would ice the cake for me! Even though I have a Type-S reserved for March delivery, Im still drooling all over the Audi A6 2.7T! I absolutely LOVE that car! But, configured the way I want it, without NAV, without leather, but just about everything else, it stickers out over 44 large. Dealer said he would do it for a bit over 41, but thats an 8K hit over the TL. I really like the feel of those German cars though.....

The TL's redesign in likely tied to Honda's big seller, the Accord.Remember in 98 the Accord was redesigned and the TL came in 99 The Accord is probably due for a redesign after 5 years or in 2003. The TL will follow in 2004.
