Q about Bose in dash 6 CD changer

Hi I got a CD stuck in the the changer (03 TL) and it won't come out. I've had it to the dealership who said they would send it away and in about 6 weeks and $350 later it would come back fixed. Is this a fair deal or ripoff??? I've contacted a few car stereo stores like Car Toys and Circuit City and Best Buy and they all won't touch it due to the amps set up between the speakers and the stereo. I was thinking of buying a stock system online (like at eBay) and then having either the dealership or seeing if one of these other stores would install it. Does this sound like a good idea?? Has anybody done this before and how much should the total cost be for purchase and install?
thanks
Tripp

I would look on ebay or junk yards for a different/used unit before i paid 350 to have that one repaired.

Also stores like BB and such really need to get their info correct. There is NO amps between the speaker and the HU. The amp for our bose system is IN the headunit.

If you have a philips screw driver you can install it yourself in under a hr.
