agreed. now if u didnt have to put the key in the ignition and just pushed the button to start that would be cool. like if the key fob had a chip that would trigger the start button to be pushed. without the key in the car, the car wont start. sort of like the 7 series or lexus's

DRINKING HAS A ME PROBLEM
well you could set it up so you could either start it with the key or with the button.
that way you have the push button and the regular start.

ok, here is my idea that may prevent you from having to use the ignition switch:
First, you have to extend the range of the immoblizer so it can "see" the key in you pocket or move it (under the seat?).
Then, you wire in a new relay circuit. This simple circuit has, in series:
-A normaly open contact that is closed when the immoblizer senses the key and a bypass relay that keeps the relay energized once the car is started to prevent the car from inadverntly shutting off the car if you get out or if you get the key too far from the sensor
-A relay that holds shut the "on" position when the car is started and while running
-The Start button with a bypass relay that stays shut while the car is running to keep the circuit energized
-A normaly closed pushbutton that shuts off the engine
The biggest problem is that puts the security of the car soley on the immoblizer. I guess it really is already but the key makes me feel secure. Or atleast that the thief is slowed enough that I can get my pistol and get to him before he gets away. Also, I would have drawn it for you but I do not have Paint on my Mac (kinda ironic, huh?)
P.S. If you do this, it must be on a huge board with vacuum tubes strapped to the hood of the car.

the other thing is that our ignition is not an auto-crank type like in the new RL. you would need a time delay with semi-intelligent shutoff to ensure the engine actually cranks enough to start but does not over crank. it can be done but it seems as if it will take a little more work.
perhaps it would be easier to order the RL parts and transplant them......not sure of the cost though.....

yea i totally agree. but i think it was just for the "wow, thats cool" factor. its like the s2k. i think those you have to put the key in and then hit the button. my friend had money to spend so it was just 1 of those useless mods lol. he was a member here NosTL he was using a 100 shot. now he has a single turbo 350z.
