Purge solenoid
Hey, I was wondering if anyone had experience changing the PPV? Did the tick noise go away, and if it did, was it permanent?
Also, what does it mean if my if my idle is rough? It almost sounds like it has some mild cam setup, lol. I don't know how long this has been going on for, since I bought if off my aunt which was her ex-husband' car. Anyway, you can barely tell that the idle is rough from the inside with everything shut, but from the outside it sounds crappy, with the combo of the ticking and idling. Like I said earlier, imagine a v8 with mild cam work, only it's a v6. So I was wondering what this was, since I recently brought in the car for a tuneup but the idling remained the same.

I also forgot to add, most of the noise is coming from the engine, and the rough idling is probably abbreviated by the injen intake, and possibly headers. Is it possible there might be a leak? On cold startups (around 40 degrees F), it will idle at aroun 1500 rpms for a second or so and idle normally after.

Getting a new solenoid will fix the problem.
Rough idle could be MANY things. when was the last time the plugs were replaced? Or dirty EGR.
When its colder the idle is supposed to be higher for a short time

I'll be bringing in the tl for a mechanic to try to diagnose the idling.
