Pulley and Transmission
Please I am having some issues with my 99TL which is at 155,000 and running pretty well, I bought it at 129,000 and only had minor replacements like the belt tensioner.I had a tune up at 130,000 so its been running perfectly since .I Just had a few questions about some things I have been experiencing.
Everytime I warm my car up, ever since I bought it two years ago, while inside my car, I hear noises coming from the front of the dashboard like water is boiling, I wanted to know
1.what is that and is it normal.?
Past few weeks, the weather has gotten colder ..high 40's in the mornings.Every time I start my car, i hear whining noises coming from the hood so i went and opened it, came to find out it was the pully. But after the car has warmed up for about 5 minutes the noise slowly gets softer and goes away.
2.What causes that noise and how can i get it to stop?I was thinking maybe it needs some WD40
Since I have had my car, every time i switch gears I have been getting a jump from the car. This instance always happens when I put the gear to drive in the morning after it has been sitting there all night. Usually when i switch from D4 to Reverse and from P to D4 in the mornings but in the mornings it always jumps forward when I switch it from P to Drive not as much in the daytime depending on how long its been sitting there undriven like an hr or two it wont but more than that it has a minor jump. I usually press the break pedal real tight so it doesnt cause it to leap forward as much. I even began putting the parking break on when i park the car bc it always jumps forward when I stop and put it to park but it never rolls or anything. I just wanted to know why it jumps like that.
3.What is the cause of this issue and how can I fix it?
Thanks guys.

ac belt tensioner is noisy?- no you cant wd it- replace it!
Was the timing belt and water pump done at 105?
trans jump may be a symptom of failure of motor mounts --as said above
Get those all checked out as well

Thanks for your response.I purchased the car in 06 when it had 129,000 from a second owner, he wasnt able to tell me if it had been replaced or not so I am not sure, if the timing belt has been replaced. But I did do a tune up i think the 105,000 tune up at 133,000 or so.The dealership did tell me I need to replace the right motor mount. I had the belt tensioner replaced in March 07 but not the timing belt.
