pulled over...again!

ok, so does anyone else get pulled over as much as i do??? i live in central massachusetts and state police here in the commonwealth are, for the most part, ma$$holes!

in the past 3 days, i've gotten pulled over TWICE! for tint and exhaust. i currently have the tsudo axlebacks with mid muff delete and 28% tint so i understand i am breaking the law...massachusetts state law is no tint darker than 35% unless equipped from factory, which i believe is a stupid law, and no altering the factory exhaust in any way, which i dont understand how meineke and such are allowed to sell non oem exhausts and are "legally" allowed to circumvent that law.

i'm going back to factory no tint and exhaust tomorrow on my day off since i got a $250 ticket...again...what a great new years ticket yay

so, does anyone else get harassed as much as i do? i get pulled over at least 4 times a month...

I got the same exhaust you do plus headers and intake and still haven't been stopped for it. But I live in the city of Harley Davidson. As long as I'm not louder then that I'll be ok.

For Tsudos?! Wow, what the fuck...

I understand the tint if the officer just wants to be a dick, but that exhaust law is stupid as shit.

yeah massachusetts is notorious for crap rules ugh!!

i really dont understand these laws. harleys and motorcycles are allowed to have super loud exhausts, but law forbid i modify my car to sound the same if not much quieter...and love how cars are allowed to have damn near limo tint from factory but yet my tinted lighter windows are somehow illegal

i despise whomever came up with these rules

Get an exhaust that looks more like stock. Make it so that it doesnt stand out as much from behind

If it looks like stock you would be less likely to be pulled over. Especially if it isnt really loud. I would try painting the cans of the mufflers black to hide them so they are less noticeable

I got pulled over for going a few miles over and the cop told me my tint was too dark but he wasn't going to give me a ticket for it. I have gotten pulled over at least 6 times this year and i decided to take my tail light tint off to make my car look more stock but my window tint is dark. So far 3 months and haven't got pulled over. Out of all the times i got pulled over i only paid for 1 ticket and everyone tells me i should have fought it. i was going 5 miles over the speed limit and it was my 1st ticket.

I don't see how they can visually tell the difference between 28% and 35% tint, so it must be your driving or exhaust sound. How loud is your exhaust? Are you driving like a cock (ie, accelerating fast and intentionally keeping car in low gears)?

no lol i was in slow lane following flow of traffic on way to work, this morning traffic was cruising at 65 and it's a 55mph highway. i saw him pull out and im like wtf?? i am going exact same speed as the car in front of me, which was a chevy impala. he didn't mention anything about speed, just immediately threw the meter on and threw me a ticket...i figured it's the last day of the month and i'm the guy he decides to fuck today.

well i just finished putting my factory mufflers back on it's still louder than factory with the mid muff delete but hopefully enough for court to throw ticket away. i'm going to rip the tint off prob next monday and either leave factory or put 50% on ughhh

I see. Must be the overzealous cops on your area. I had a limo tint on my jaguar all around while I was in school in San Francisco (Cali prohibits anything over 70% on the front). I got pulled over once in 14 months, and cop gave me the $200 tint ticket. He complimented the car though . Good luck with new set up.

It's no secret that the cops will be attracted to a souped up car, and more inclined to write a younger driver for things like tint. Some cops ARE dicks, especially at the end of the month and in certain states. There are huge differences between agencies though...troopers and staties are always known for being stricter than your county mounties and local blues. My Charger has a 440 with headers and crappy mufflers and is LOUD...never been harassed. Hell, I haven't been pulled over in years, regardless of what I'm driving these days.

A blanket "F the police" is far from sensible.

First get a tint waiver from your doc & then tell the officer to prove the exhaust. FLEX YOUR RIGHTS:

Dark tints, loud exhausts .......= a ticket ?

Hey guys, this time of year is big for your law enforcement agencies.

There's funded programs for holiday periods. These cops are trained to be on the outlook for what they feel may be either aggressive or impaired drivers. What they normally would let slide by depends on the location and the time. They've done their homework and know where to look.

If a cop's bored and just wants to check ya out, what better excuse to pull ya over.......tints & v-rooom ! They really want to nail ya on something way bigger than that, trust me. Use some common sense and don't try to stand out, and eventually you'll just blend in with the surrounding landscape.

Yeah sounds like that western mass state of mind. Go to your doc and request a letter for the tint. Take it to the registry and they will make a note on your registration so that if it happens again he will have to make up an excuse why he pulled you over. As for the tint ticket dont take it off. Depending on who tinted the car they can give you a paper saying the tint is 35%. 35% plus the lil bit that the car has from factory will bring down the reading to 28%. I use to have 20% and it would always ready 7% less. Ive fought to many tint tickets to know that they only fucked with you cuz he was bored and needed to fill out he quotea

How is tint only for limos when many many vehicles come w it installed from factory?? Tint prevents sun damage to interior and also keeps people from peeking inside your vehicle.

yeah im ripping off current tint and doing legal 35% myself soon so looks like i wont have a legal document to prove 35% lol

as for exhaust mine isnt even loud. i live in fitchburg where riced out hondas and acuras run rampant and i am of 3 tl's in town and have actually gotten a compliment from a state trooper once for my set up haha i gotten pulled over once before for exhaust and he said "it sounded loud but it sounds fine now that i'm standing next to your car, plus my girlfriend has the same model as you and i just got good ideas for her car now" he just wrote me a warning for not signaling that day lol

so whats this go to my doc talk? so you guys are saying i can go somewhere and get tint waived???

Regarding "getting pulled over":
Although exceptions exist we don't live in a PoliceState - - it's all about "Probable Cause".
If you don't give them "Probable Cause" (loud exhaust, tint, tag issue, eradic driving, speeding, etc...) then they can't pull you over.... Once you give them PC (examples above), you open yourself up to getting pulled & hassled.

it may not be a police state but it sure as hell seems like EVERYTHING is probable cause these days

What probable cause does loud exhaust create?? You could make the argument that tint hides things but what about the exhaust?? It's still not louder than the bikes motorcycle cops ride. So where the PC??

probable cause is pretty much bs. If the cop really want to pull you over they will and just make up something to check you out. Like said above they are just looking for something WAY bigger. Many drug, gun, and other major arrest come from traffic stops.

Around here, we're just happy if you're not shooting at somebody while going down the road...I see cars I would pull over and ticket, but nothing apparently happens

Cant Believe the regulations on exhaust in Mass!! What about sound systems?? Those are way more obnoxious than exhaust... Down here in SC we get the STUPID lifted Caprices on 24" rental rims with marine speakers mounted in the bumper blasting some wanna-be rap star's music OUTSIDE the car for everyone to enjoy. It just became illegal here and I couldn't be happier. But luckily I can say I've had taillight tint for about 3 years now and exhaust for 2 years and never been pulled "for that." But I have been pulled about 16 times since I got the car in 2009. Racing, speeding, no seat belt, my A-ZINE license plate frame and just being in "suspicious areas" Only had to pay one ticket though!

massachusetts sucks when it comes to everything. only thing good about it is when spring comes and you go downtown boston and all the college girls start wearing the yoga pants/mini skirts/ booty shorts/etc... since there's like 50 colleges all within 3 square miles haha

but yeah i lived in nashville for a few years awhile back and down there anything goes. only state regulation is front lights, rear lights, and seatbelts...no doors or nothing required im like wtf?? lol

i would love to start a movement where if new cars can come with pitch black tint and motorcycles can come loud as balls! then we should...but then i know all my effort would be for nothing because then government can't profit from tickets

Do you venture out onto the hwy much where the state boys run? They are about the only ones in Wi that pull you over for tint. Last time i got pulled over for it, well........ see my rant (i almost forgot about this little gem)
