Programmng ECU to remove rev limiter

hey, I must suck at searching forums but I know it's been done by someone...

I want to try a 6spd conversion (well, I'll prolly get it done at the transmission shop my buddy owns) but I wanted to know if even before that there was a way to remove the 5500 rev limit? Installing a CAI as I type (well not literally, at work right now) but I'm thinking though more air is always good, what's the use if I'm going to lose about 1500 rpm off the redline?

your rev limiter is like 7200 rpms in the type-s and 6900 rpms in the base TL, why would you want to remove it you will just loose power going past it. the rev limiter is kinda there for a reason. and i don't think a transmission shop will do a 6 speed swap to easily or coast effective.

that 5500 must be while ur in neutral or park? its 5000 rpms in the base TL in park and neutral.

Ouch! 5500 is parking limit... never ever rev in parking, until you wanna kill your car...

I NEVER rev in park. lolz i have in neutral to keep engine revs through turns and such and it's gone to about 5500, and when I'm in auto-stick the highest second ever gets is about 5700ish. It has the rebuilt tranny and it works flawlessly...hmmmm

anyways, the tranny shop is owned by my oldest friend and (him being a honda nut) would gladly let me use his garage to do it just because he loves hondas so much. not to mention, he sourced two tranny's for me and he isn't charging me (i helped him do the paperwork for his shop...let's just say he owes me)

better question, what tranny? Cl-6speed or V6 Accord coupe? both have about 50k miles on them

Care to explain this??????

And if your car isnt going past 5500 you have a problem. The revlimit is 69-7200. There is no way to raise it.

When you install the 6 speed into the auto engine the computer thinks the car is in park all the time so it's limited to 5500rpm. The only way to fix this is to

A: buy a 6speed engine, ecu, and harness
b: buy the Richie v6 module
c: not do the swap
