Problem - Radio Resets and Loss of Memory
The problem I'm having is as if someone has removed my battery while I'm away from my car. I get back in, the radio has reset and I have to enter the security code, I lose the seat memory and it affects the keyless entry too. Anyone else hear of this problem. Of course the dealer won't do anything since they can't duplicate the problem. It's so frustrating. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

The usual cause of memory reset both in the seats & radio is momentary power loss due to either a bad/loose battery cable or corrosion where the battery cable attaches to the battery. I would suggest disconnecting the battery cables and give the the connection a good wire brushing to make sure you have a good connection and see if you still have the problem.

Im guessing that this is the stock Head Unit?, there is a "contant" wire that is always connected to the battery, i think its yellow, maybe that is faulty...how many k u have? That is definitely a warranty issue. How did the dealer not replicate it? Check the connections at the battery.

It's a 2003 and they've checked the battery and say that it's okay...
It happens while I'm away from the car. By the time I get back, there's power and I just have to enter the code for the radio and reset the seat memory. I've only lost power to the radio once while I was driving and it went off for a minute and then came back on. There's no way they'll be able to duplicate it, it just doesn't happen often enough.

Hum..Weird. For you its the radio, for me its the navigation. Every once in a while the navi asks for the code. It happened twice in a day once. But my memory seats and radio presets are still good, just navi. Whats wrong? Battery seems okie and connectors are clean. ???
