Question problem with my bumper

took my car to a body shop today. i have a really minor crack due to wear. they estimated 1000 to get it fixed (idk if it involves repair or getting a new bumper). would simply having a body shop repainting it (without repairing or replacing it) (around 150-300) be any good, or would it be a waste of money since it would further damage the bumper? should i just use the bumper as is? i'm okay either way, don't mind driving around like that, just want to know the best way to spend my money, and i'm not willing to spend 1k to repair it.

i think they want 1000 to repair it and respray it, and i guess its not a good idea to respray a cracked bumper, as it will make it worse, so i guess i will just keep it as is

ya man, thats them trying to rip your money outta your hands. i think an OEM bumper brand new is like 450? maybe? even with a paintjob tack on another 200 if you have a good indie shop do it. but id go with finding a used one. try car-part.com

find bumper at junk yard for cheap.. get it painted.. and it should be WAAAAAAAAAAYY less than 1,000

if you have had experience with actual body painting. find bumper at junk yard for cheap. order the paint or go to a place where they sell it.. and paint it yourself..
