TLS Price
I bought mine off the lot in Sacramento, as a result of an Internet search and response from Stonage.com. The dealer is Lasher, in Sacramento, and their price was $30,200 (1,500 below sticker) for the car without NAVI. Another dealer in Sac, Niello, who also sells Porsche and BMW, didn't seem ready to deal at all.
I also had a 30,500 quote from an autobytel.com dealer in Fairfield. After I got the Lasher quote, Fairfield said that 30,500 was their bottom-line deal. This was on June 20th.

I got mine at Mike Harvey Acura, Burlingame, CA.
TL-S with Navi + wheel locks for $31130 (before tax and
license). That's $700 above invoice.
At that time, they had 3 silver for me to choose from.

Used Acur's own website to do a search for AEGEAN BLUE (the only color I wanted) found only one at Downey Acura. This was around early June. Turns out they had just traded an Mdx for it with some dealership in Bakersfield.
Anyways, paid @ $31,700 w/ rear spoiler, tinted windows, wheel locks, mud guards, And LOJAK

$29,500 w/wheel locks (whoopee!) + $189 of virgina approved extra dealer profit (dealer prep/doc fee.)
Got it at Radley Acura in Falls Church. I could have saved the extra dealer profit fee by taking a car off the lot, but I had to have DEP. It is (was?) a tough color to get around here, and I had to wait. This was an end of June deal.

This may be misleading in this post, BUT ...
The $32,218 is the purchase price figure the dealer placed on the lease documents. I have listed other details in another post on this forum.
This dealer was 'playing' with the figures to get the best deal from Honda Finance. I leased the car and was only interested in my up front costs and monthly payments.
So, I'm not so sure you should presume I really got all of that for that price. This is just the figure the dealer put on the lease document.
If you want to know what I did get, at what monthly price, check out the other post in 'Lease help really needed in NY'NY'

0.9% over invoice
before locks and muds on my car (see sig below - expected total wait time 52 days).
01 TL was ~0.96% but included locks and muds (so some fudge factor here, but I estimated $120 as cost for muds & locks) but purchased on 3/15/01 - same day the 02 TL-S came out.

SoCal in Greater LA area = Best Prices
Purchased a WDP TL-S w/Navi from John-boy at South Coast Acura (Costa Mesa, CA) on 31 May (end of the month seems to do wonders for deals) as follows:
$31,005 for vehicle, destination and CA tire tax (only 5 miles on it)
$500 for OEM rear spoiler
$137.20 for splash flaps and wheel locks
Quoted $1,050 for body kit, but decided to buy it from Tim
Note: Don't buy extended warranty or Lojack from dealer, unless you really know the cost figures; ie, I was quoted $4,000 and walked.

I am shopping right now for the TL-S w/Navi. I was given and e-mail quote, supposedly a no-nag price, of $31,630. I haven't even spoken to the salesperson yet, but I'm hoping there is some room for negotiation, especially when it comes to some accessories.

I diid the same thing hads.... Right away my dealer (the same one that gave me the internet quote) beat teh internet quote because they were 2 separate factions (one was the acura dealer, and the internet dealt all cars that the "Classic Auto Group" had.... BMW Honda Nissan etc) So if that is the case @ your dealership, you can do better right away... I put 2 dealers into competition by subtly letting them know about each other, and walking out on both once... I then told the one that was closer (better for maintenance) that if they came down 1 grand I'd 100% buy the car from them... so if you know what you are willing to pay do that I ended up getting mine in april, and no one wanted to budge from MSRP, noe you can play alittle, get quotes from Nucar etc... and take thos to the dealer.... good luck!

Keep in mind that you can't really make a fair comparison when it comes to purchase price; market, tax, reg and other fees, and installed options vary from state to state and even from county to county. Just because someone paid $30K OTD for a TL-S doesn't mean that you can use that as a ballpark figure to determine how much you are willing to pay for one. Heck--didn't someone say that he only had to pay 3% NC sales tax on his purchase? Well, here in CA sales tax varies from approx 7.25 to 8.25%, translating to a roughly 1275-1575 dollar difference on a $30K purchase when compared to a 3% sales tax that you can't negotiate; same with reg fees.
What's my point? That people shouldn't feel too bad if they feel that they may have paid a bit too much; you're basically comparing apples and oranges when it comes to price, especially when you have people from different parts of the country paying whatever the market and legislation bears in their area. As long as you feel that you got a good deal and that you like your car, that's all that really matters. So what if other people paid less for theirs? Maybe they have to watch every dollar since they're probably on some kinda budget!!! People with enough money on their hands don't need to quibble over a few thousand dollars...
Now watch me get flamed for these comments!!! Be nice, I was just messing around...

Better put that flame suit on!
Hey Tdoh,
I agree with what you said... one should probably stick to the quotes that come from the same area you live in. But it's nice to hear what folks across the country are payin' (sometimes!). I do have to say that the pricing posts that have things itemized are the most useful to me. Then I can start comparing "apples to apples" as you say.
On another note... I met your bro on Sunday at his shop. He's a very cool dude and was very patient with all of my questions about window tint and that CompuStar 2000-AS security system. I'll definitely be asking him to work on my car when I finally get the darn thing!
Later,
V.

Tdoh,
I agree that OTD prices will vary from fees and taxes that are different from place to place, however, you don't think that a comparably equipped car should cost the same before all of those fees, taxes, etc???
I also agree that if you are happy with the price you paid then great.....Since I bought my car relatively early @ 1k under MSRP, I felt I got a pretty good deal...but it was the first car i bought so i just wanted to know how other people fared, and if i should have held out longer or gone about my process differently...

Just made a deal on a 2002 TL-Type S w/Navi. I went back and forth in e-mail with the dealer via an initial internet inquiry.
Internet sales at the dealer gave me a "no-nag" price of $31,630. I told them it may be no-nag, but I wanted a better deal as I was corresponding with 2 other dealers at the same time. They came back with a price of $31,320.
For clarification, this is only price of car plus destination. So, from the $33,710 MSRP, I was at $31,320. They told me that was the bottom line. I told them I can come in and we can talk further and address some accessories as part of the deal. I tried to negotiate $31,320 further, but they told me that the cost also included a $200 "advertising fee" on top of the price plus destination, so I was getting a good deal for $31,320.
Bottom line, I ended up getting the car for $31,660 with trunk tray, floor mats, splash guards, wheel locks and moonroof visor. I'm satisfied with the deal overall. The great thing about it is they can get me a car within 3 days!
Hope this info helps others ...

Glad to hear that you were able to get some info out of my bro; hope you're just as patient with him as he was with you if and when you do get your car tinted--between tinting cars and answering all kinds of questions to customers, he can get pressed for time once in a while. I think he even mentioned you when I was visited him earlier this week; he said that you heard about me from the TL forum and that you were thinking of getting a TL-S (do you have an Accord, because that's what my bro said about you).

Tdoh,
Yep, that's me with the black Accord. I'm just finishing up pricing my "accessories" so that my bank account doesn't suffer sticker shock after buying the car! I want to buy the car and immediately take it to your bro and get the tint done and the alarm put in. At least that's the plan for now.
