Do a search it has been discussed on multiple threads.

My opinion: You bought a $30K vehicle and you don't follow the gas requirements??

Its needs to be I thinks atleast 91 or 92 octane. Or else you will hear the engine tapping when you turn off your car.

Requires premium fuel otherwise the engine will 'knock' until the detonation sensor retards timing. The knock is no good, and the timing change reduces performance. Use premium fuel.

Honda recommends 91+ octane rating. Our car have knock senors to reduce knocking, but that results in lower power and milage since the engine is not getting the compression of the fuel it needs. If you have TL-P, you could put in < 91 but I don't recommend it. If you have TL-S don't even try <91 because it needs a higher fuel compression then the TL-P. The point I'm trying to make is, yes you can put in lower octane, it will effect performance, and I wouldn't recommend it. The decision is ultimately up to you and if you want more input there has been numerous threads discussing this. Also its a myth that lower octane will make more carbon build up etc. All fuels should contain cleaning additives but depending on where you pump your fuel, some gets away with not putting it in low octane rating fuel (87) to reduce cost. So if you pump in <91, watch where you refuel.

Ditto to what everyone else said. I only use 93 in mine. Would probably pass out if I had to put anything less in.

If you don't use at least 91 octane like the manual says you are not a good person either. Just do a search, this has been discussed more often than sex.

Oh, please... it's $2 more per tank at most.... if you're worried about an amount like that you should have gotten an Accord.

You should use what the manufacturer recommends. Using more won't necessarily be better and in fact could be worse.
