Which power steering pump to choose? Also need to know lbs torque for pump?

Hello all. So I had the 100000 mile work done a few weeks ago, which included tensioner, water pump, timing belt. The shop that did the work over torqued the power steering pump, and it died in about 48 hours after the work was done. They have agreed to labor free, but I have to buy the pump. Don't get me started, it's been a long process, and I am just happy these clowns are doing this. The pump made a small noise before, but they completely smoked my power steering pump. I have a choice between two pumps that are available. Would you be willing to go with the reman from a random vendor for $135:

Or

the tried and true reman from an Acura dealership for $350.

Yes, I am sure many of you would say just go with the Acura, but I am a broke grad student, and I have purchased reman from other vendors before and been fine. Let me know what you think.

Also, how many lbs of torque when tightening power steering pump, so that I can tell those dummies so that they don't toast the pump again. Excuse me if the wording is not correct, I have limited experience under the hood. Thanks for all the help.

its the amount of freeplay in the ps belt thats imprtant, old school adjustment not an auto tensioner like the rest
Dont have the exact movement spec on me, ck ours or gen3s 105 DIY
gen3 has excellent pics with every spec

make sure they put cardboard under the front wheels to reduce friction and strain on the system while burping after new pump
then with engine running, slowly turn the steering fully to one side then the other- repeat until fluid stops emitting bubbles in res.
Make sure they are flushing the fluid as part of this process- not just topping off whats lost in changing the pump- you want the rack cleared out as well

they can do that by doing the turn the wheels thing with return line unplugged from res, when its empty- stop!
wont hurt the system- per acura directions on how to do it!

ck NAPA auto parts and a few others local to you- and their websites for pricing

warranty you can walk in and exchange the part,, is worth a few dollars in my opinion

I got a used OEM pump from a salvage title for $60. It came with a lifetime warranty, so I bought it. Installed it with no problems, and it runs perfectly.

excellent suggestion!
with warranty is needed on used parts- sitting too long causes rubber seals inside to dry out and rot
You can rebuild the pump but thats defeating the intent
