power steering issues/noises

hi guys, after doing an extensive search on my particular problem I still have questions. both of my belts got frayed due to my plastic inner fender falling off on the freeway. so I had to replace them. I did a search on the site, got the onfo and did it. the only thing I did that deviated from the procedures I read was that I tried to remove the P/S reservouir(sp). Actually, I only removed the the upper hose at the P/S pump. I was trying to make more room for the wrench I used for the tentioner. but it didnt help so I put it back together after it leaked a bunch of fluid every where. after I finished there was obviously air in the system so after refilling the reservouir(sp) I bled the system by locking the wheels back and fourth. that stopped the foaming but I still have that real bad whining noise that wasnt there before I changed the belts and every time I make turns the steering makes a chirping sound. please, please, please help me figure this out Ive tried every thing that ive read from adjusting belt tention to spraying brake cleaner on the belts. any help would be truely appreciated

Make sure the belts are running straight- that no pulleys got bent in the accident
Dont spray stuff on them- find the cause
Did the system run while driving with no fluid?

Look at the current thread on PS fluid flush and do that- with HONDA PS fluid only

If that doesnt fix it and you want to experiment a teaspoon of slick 50
thats the old ford exploder secret dealer fix it for ps pump whine

why is your car salvage
And Welcome to the forum- tons of info if you scan thru the main page of each models list

the car was hit on the opposite side (doors) Ive put like 20K on it since. and at least 15 of that on the frayed belts. I resently took the car to vegas (like 1K round trip) so I decided to do the whole belt thing since i have been so lucky for the past 15K without them breaking on me. the system never ran with no fluid it always had atleast some in it ( lower line) to get me to the store to buy more fluid (like 2 miles)

Make sure the belt isnt over tightened or it will ruin the bearings in the pump

Pull that top line off and inspect/replace the rubber o-ring. that may be damaged.

wait, so your saying theres a rubber o-ring on the metal nipple on the right hand side of the p/s pump? the one that needs needle nose pliers to lossen/remove the clamp that holds the hose that goes to the reservoir?
