did you look in the DIY section- I know its been posted

Tip put cardboard under wheels to make it easy to turn them and pump out old fluid.
Get a piece of garden hose remnant that fits over the return line- long enough to reach outside the car into a gallon jug

must be a big ziplock!

the actual book method is remove the return line to ps-(some remove pump from mount) CLAMP extension hose on res hose and into a catch can

you dont want to risk ps fluid all over the engine area--flammable
Start car- turn wheels full lock back and forth till all the fluid is pushed out
You can refill and pump out again for good measure, or just refill and burp by turning wheels back and forth -watch for bubbles and drop in level

the cardboard under wheels is the cool trick,,and I like that ziplock idea- save a lot of hassle

would it be better to just replace the pump itself and just have the fluid drain then and new fluid put it

there isnt a flush procedure for this is there?

why.... when this might solve your noise issue

and flush procedure there is one, not exactly the cleanest doing it though, and if you read my way (other thread), you can also suck it out then put in new stuff afterwards

you must turn the wheels back and forth to get the old fluid out from the steering rack
. refill- turn a few times and drain again- that is the flush

if you need to replace the pump, do an extra good job with the flush a few times so no crud gets pumped into the new unit

Here are the instructions from the service manual:

1. Remove the power steering reservoir from its holder. Raise the reservoir, then disconnect the return hose (A) to drain the reservoir. Take care not
to spill the fluid on the body and parts. Wipe off any spilled fluid at once.
2. Connect a hose (B) of suitable diameter to the disconnected return hose, and put the hose end in a suitable container.
3. Start the engine, let it run at idle, and turn the steering wheel from lock-to-lock several times. When fluid stops running out of the hose, shut off the
engine. Discard the fluid.
4. Reinstall the return hose on the reservoir.
5. Fill the reservoir to the upper level line (C).
6. Start the engine and run it at fast idle, then turn the steering from lock-to-lock several times to bleed air from the system.
7. Recheck the fluid level and add some if necessary. Do not fill the reservoir beyond the upper level line.

SYSTEM CAPACITY: 1.1 L (1.16 US qt. 0.97 Imp. qt) at disassembly
RESERVOIR CAPACITY: 0.4 L (0.42 US qt. 0.35 Imp. qt)

if you use the hose method- slip a larger diameter -garden hose works- hose on the res return line and use a hose clamp to secure
there is a lot of pressure wanting to spray fluid all over the place when connection comes apart~
