Possible mods...suggestions!
Hey, Guy's I have a 99 TL, its Blue and I really havent done much other then add in the 2003 Cupholder mod and install a navigation system. I would like to get some rims for it now. I was wondering if you guys can recommend any that are 17" and arent too flashy. What tires would you recommend. Also thinking of getting the Comptech Icebox, as it looks stock, but I'm worried about voiding the warrenty. I know the 99's are supposed to have really solid Transmissions and Honda's have really reliable engines, but I really like the peace of mind of the warrenty. Will I get a decent Hp boost (im looking for at least 10hp, I wanna at least hang with my buddy with a 2003 Accord V6, I think he's faster then me) I really wanna keep my TL as lowkey as possible like I did with my Civic.

as for wheels, i like to stick to OEM. there were a few selling TL type S wheels. get those. they look great. i would, but got TSX rims instead cause no one was selling when i was buyin.
comptech was gonna be my first mod, but decided i would do that later.. got rims first. since i hated the TL-P rims esp, our cars 99-01

I personally think the TSX rims look really good on the TL...much better than they do on the TSX actually. I am amazed with how many questions and compliments I get with these - but true. Like whatwasthat said though, get either the TSX or some TLS or CLS rims - all are 17 inch, but the TSX is 7 inches wide and Im pretty sure the TLS rims are 17x6.5 - if that matters to you. Also, every mod in my sig I would do again if I could
umm.. aftermarket mods DOESNOT void warranty.. what exact warranty are you talking about? the biggest problem with our cars are the trannies..
i have a 99TL, and even when i had my headers and a bunch of other stuff on the dealer still replaced my transmission..
and if you really want a big gain, buy a crank pulley. they really give you some raw power through the whole powerband that you can feel. and its also hidden underneath so you cant even see it.
headers also give you a huge boost, but its really noticeable, especially when you see that bronze shiny part right in the front of your engine.

go the 10HP you need, get the UR crank pulley/ UR claims 10-14HP, but is probably much closer to 8-10HP from what I have read on numeroius threads here. That will be my next mod. Headers are great too, you will get about 25HP with headers. Also if you have 9TL, take off your shift plate and spray it with paint stripper, underneath is beautiful chrome that Acura covered up with crappy silver paint. Get wood a/c trim and shiftknob, makes interior look subtly more elegant and luxurious. Tint your windows too, TL's with platinum tint look classy as hell. TSX rims are better looking in my opinion than TL-S rims. Personally I am saving for some nice 18" chrome rims. You can also get some TSX rims and have them chromed to match door handles and enterior trim, also looks very classy.
