35 just picked up an Aegean blue TLS yesterday.
I've been shopping for a car for about 1.5 years, and I knew this was the one for me when I saw the pics from the LA auto show.
I've been grining for two days straight.

My age is 58, wife is 55. Drove away with our long awaited "S" this morning. It is a great performance car. We really like the Nighthawk Black Pearl with Ebony. I am very disappointed with my dealer since they would not come down from MSRP even though this is my sixth new car from them, all servicing is done by them, I had no trade-in, and had pre-approved financing. Did they bend me over? I believe they did but we have the car and could'nt be happier with it.

I'm 51 and just bought (had to pay a little over MSRP) an Emerald Pearl 02 TL Type-S for my wife. Traded in her 93 Legend (which she loved but it was definitely starting to show the 100,000 miles) for it.

    I'm 23.
    Deerfield FL.

I would say that this forum has a lot of young people. Here in florida, most of TL drivers are at least over 40. Very few young people with TL's. That's one of the reasons I haven't been able to race another TL. Plus not too many old people that have the TL, don't have internet or just don't come to this site. What you need to do [driver] go to the dealer and ask if they could show you the ages of all the people that bought a TL. I was read an article in a magazine that the Average TL driver was 48.

You're observation is correct! This poll is not a scientific measure of the actual average or median age of people that buy this type of car. It is more indicative of the skew in young people that frequently surf the internet and have purchased a TL-s. Now really, how many of lay people would have actually found this discussion forum otherwise!

So do not think that this is a young persons car. In fact, as I mentioned before the age group targeted by Acura is 35-45. I'm 42.

What I like to take away from this poll is that there are many young purchasers that are knowledgeabble and have thoroughly researched and debated the merits of this car all round that gives me added comfort in having made a good decision myself to purchase one (silver/ebony).

50 years old here and drove home in my new 02 Type-S Dark Emerald Pearl non-Nav six days ago. Only mods planned so far are moonroof visor and chromed wheels. Paid $30,000 even.

    51. Silver/Ebony TL-S is due in two weeks. Can't wait. Still believe nitrous is best on the road, not at the dentist.
TL-S is for enthusiasts, regardless of age, etc. Enjoy and DRIVE.
