Plugs going bad after coil pack going bad??
Yesterday my car started shaking at low rpms; I brought it into my mechanic and as I suspected its a bad coil pack.
My mechanic told me that I need one new pack (he also recommended changing the other 5 - shock shock) and also said I need a whole new set of plugs.
3 questions:
1) Assuming I change one pack and all 6 plugs what should it cost?
2) I put in NKG iridium plugs about 10K miles ago, he told me that the misfiring from the broken coil pack ruined 3 of them, is that likely? Is it possible all 6 plugs are fine?
3) What should it cost parts and labor to replace just one coil pack (and let's be generous and give an hour of labor to clean the plugs as well)
Thanks

I have a similar problem from time to time.I would start my car and let it sit in drive and then my RPM would drop to like 700-500 rpm and my car would start to shake for a while and if I dont give it gas it would turn off. I was wondering if thats the kind of things you are describing as shaking, so I know what may be the problem with my car?

well my car idles at 700 too but then sometimes it drops to even lower and I feel light shakig like my car is gonna turn off but ti doesnt right away.then after a while if I dont give it any gas it does. I just wanna know if thats the problem with coil packs or do I have a more serious problem.

This was extreme shaking, and the check engine and tcs lights went on and flashed. Also when I accelerated I could tell there was not full power.

You dont clean these plugs!!!
Just replace at 7 bucks each- it take less time to replace than dick with the plugs-
thats old school remove oil trick- cleaning the plugs lol
A bad coil pack only affects that cylinder
If 1 goes pack goes bad- thats all the ones needing replacement right now-
its a waste to replace them all.
Did you tell the tech the plugs were recent? Otherwise they have to assume they are old
If the tech cant change a plug and coil pack in under 30 minutes they should hang up their tools. You have to remove the coil pack to replace the spark plug under it
