Please tell this guy with 1999 TL that intake fits

I have a customer with a 1999 TL that is doubting that the 21-416 2 pc intake fits on his TL because AEM is telling him will not

I explained how I have personally done the install on the 99, and many here on the forum own one.
Please reply so that he can hear it from others.

Tim,

As you and others know, I've been doing car perfomance for some time. Your customer should know that before AEM or others made parts for our cars we were using items from the 98 Accord V6. I have the first "TL" Ground Controls based off of the Accords and my knowledge has increased through awareness provided by you and this site........

Acura-TL.com.....and the persons associated with this site are very knowledgeable about our cars. I hope that the person that is doubting the knowledge of people that have the car, that have done the mods, starts trusting all of us. Ask AEM if anyone there has a TL...I bet the answer is NO. Listen to Tim and you won't go wrong, if you have any questions, post them yourself and let us all help you.

To whom it may concern:

If there's anyone that will know what does and doesn't fit our TL it would be Tim. I don't think you're the first to purchase and install a AEM CAI on a '99 TL.

There's a ton of knowledge available on this board. Use it to your benefit.

I have a 99 and installed an AEM CAI in my car. Took a little work, and a little thinking on my part but I got it in, with a bypass valve too

I heard that the only purpose of the bypass valve is to keep water out of the engine...........
so some said that since you are not driving your car under water.....
the bypass valve is useless

I just wanted to give props to Tim for giving me the greatest service so far!

I've ordered all my parts from Tim and I've been happy doing business with him so far. He is a great guy and really takes care of you. I'll give you my recent experiences with him.

A few weeks ago, I purchased AEM CAI from him. As usual, I ordered it thru ACP on Sat, expecting it to take a week or so. But guess what!? It was delievered to me on the 3rd business day (ordered on Sat and arrived on Wed). That was simply amazing!!

And I ordered Comptech Anti-sways and SS brake lines last Saturday... got them delievered to me on Wednesday!!! Once again, I got them on the 3rd business day. *PHEW!!* How do you do it?? I really appreciate you quick and great service. Keep it up!!

2 piece intake on a 99 TL. Note the intake manifold cover. This was only on the 99 TL.

Nuff said.

I was told by lots of people that the Injen will not fit my 99, but i went to Park Ave Acura and they installed it with no problems. I am so happy with it. If the Injen fits, the AEM will def. fit. As far as the By-Pass is concerned, it is a peace of mind. You won't feel the loss if any.

who gives a rat's ass about a supposed 1hp loss I meshed the fogholes on my TL, so when its raining, my CAI filter gets SOAKED. the peace of mind alone of the bypass valve makes it worth it in my opinion. $40 is nothing compared to how much a new engine would cost u

In your case soaking the fitler and hydrolocking your engine would probably be less of a problem than the long term affects of washing the filter oil off whenever you get your filter wet.

If what you say is true and that your filter gets soaked EVERY time, then I'd make sure you re-oil that sucker more frequently because although you may not be letting water in...but you are definitely letting dirt in because the filter's oil gets washed away more often in your setup.
