Please Help Me

Hi
I am new to the board and I REALLY need help. I just bought a 2001 Acura (obviously) 3.2CL Type S. The car only comes with 1 key and no remote for the keyless entry. I want to get one off ebay, but I need some sort of code so I can get the right one. Does anyone know what the code is? I dont have one to go off of so I have no idea and no one will help me. Any info would be AWSOME!!!!!!

I second that. Dealer should be able to hook you up with what you need.

That didn't address his question though. He is not sure which remotes/codes are compatible with his TL. I went to the dealer to get a remote that the sales guy promissed me (last owner lost one) and they gave me one that looked exactly the same but was apparently from an RL (and that is made in Japan, where the TL assembled in the US) and was apparently not compatible. Just be careful what you get because in my instance, i could not see any differance visually but the remote would not program to my car. Just an FYI. Good luck!

They have them for all models on ebay just look for ya specific model thats all not too hard just like when ya looking for anything look for what goes on your car. Like ya would not order shocks for an RL when ya have a TL right.Does that awnser the question. And as for your expierience The stealer always screws up stay away from them!!!!!! Unless its warranty related.

My point was that the TL and RL remotes looked the exact same, and also everything was the same on the back. The only difference was that one worked and one did not. If i was looking/selling one on eBay, i dont know if i would know the difference either unless it specifically stated for TL. I use eBay all the time and i've seen the keyfobs on there, but they dont always specify a particular model acura.

PS - our acura dealerships in MN are not that bad. If you talk to the right service/sales people and get to know the good ones, everything is great!

Its a Type S?

Its not a 2001 one then.

Please find out what year it is. As the 99 - 01 and '02/'03 remotes ARE different.

Thanks Ken, that's probably what he needs.

There is instructions that come along with the remote. But off hand its something like turn car to on hit the unlock button then turn car off then on and hit the button again ya do that like 3 times and then the remote locks on to your cars signal something like that I have them on a paper at home somewhere I think I can look later.
