I didn't think that our car stood a chance against an A6, an A4 yes, but not an A6. If i'm wrong let me know, I'd like to have a little fun too. Anyone?

Ok, according to Motor Trend March '03 on the Road Test results, the '01 Audi A6 4.2 quattro do 0-60 6.7sec 1/4 mile in 15sec at 94.2.
By the numbers is obvious that you should win with no problems but remember that everything can change this numbers and yours; weather, track, weight at time of race, driver and so on.
Keep in mind that a lot of people replace their rims for bigger ones without taking in consideration the weight of them, this will change a lot the way your car respond.
I say give it a shot but be prepare to take two bags with you.
IMO, anything that's between one second (ie. 5.5 to 6.6) is going to be close no matter what anybody said. The conditions at which those numbers were taken are almost perfect, flat surface, 60 to 70 degrees temp. no wind, low humidity etc.
Good luck and let us know.

You should be able to stick with him, shift using the gate (not tiptronic) and keep all the windows closed and don't run the AC. Careful you dont ruin your tranny though! (unless it's under warranty)

car & driver don't know jack :P
motor trend dont know jack.
each car is a bit different, each driver is different
It should be close, but I would think an A6 would win..... only one way to find out, go to a track.

but yeah thats gunna be close... just remember, A/C off, low fuel, VSA off, power brake till 2000ish RPM, gateshift, and try not to spin it too much coming off that line. oh yea and make sure you dont drop your tranny ehehehhehe

and like darkshear said, stop at around 80mph. the a6 should pull harder than you at high speeds...
good luck!
