Plastic Guage Cover

Does anyone else seem to have a problem with the clear platic cover over the guages getting easily scratched? I just got my car a month ago, and I noticed if I do anything to try to wipe any dust off of the cover, it scratches it without any effort. Im wondering why they are of a material that scrachtes so easily.

Hmmm... what are you wiping it with? I use a paper towel with some Windex once in a while and my guages are fine

instrument glass

Guys, I am happy using those new "grab it" mitts on my glass. They are delicate, and won't scratch ......besides, they attract dust anywhere on the dash panel well. If you were too aggressive and scratched the cover, get some plastic polish used for motorcycle faceshields etc, polished with a cotton diaper, works great. QuickRick

If the gauge is already scratched, go out and buy some Plexus and a eyeglass cleaning cloth. Plexus can help to remove some of the swirls you are seeing.
