As I was washing the car today I noticed spots on the hood. They are on the drivers side at the base of the windshield over where the wiper motor is. They look like tiny rust spots with the paint turning white around them, like it is starting to bubble or something. I posted pics in my gallery.

There are about two dozen spots in this area that is about 8" x 6". There are also some random ones around the hood and even one or two on the side mirror mount.

Will the dealer fix this? The car is just over a year old with ~17k miles on it.

 

WOW that is BAD!!! GO to the dealer and complain!!

 

Had to take the car in today for a nail in the tire. Went to the closest dealer, not the one I usually go to. This service manager said that he would not repair the paint under warranty. He recommended that I get a second opinion from the area service rep.

I will try to take it to my normal service dealer in the near future and see what they say.
