Pinstripping...

...what do y'all think? I've got a Monterey BP 2000 TL-P. I'm not big into the mods or anything, but I'd like to make my car a bit more unique. I think professionally done pinstripping is a classic look. Saw a 2002 Maxima today with this set of really ornate stripes, it looked pretty cool. I don't know if I would go that far, but something.

Everyone here seems performance oriented, but that aside from that whats the opinion?

And if I decide to get it done what kind of place typically does a good job?

Pin stripes are a bit outdate in my eyes, but I guess its a taste. Only thing I have to warn you is that some poor quality pin stripe fade and looks horrible later on. I saw some dealer pin stripes where there is a little A symbol along the pin stripe, I might consider that.

I'm not too fond of pinstripes, but I guess it's whatever floats your boat. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do!

I've had my pinstripe since the day I bought my car. But then I decided to take it off earlier this year. IMO, the car looks much cleaner without the pinstripe.

But if you are going to get it, then get it done professionally with a warranty to back it up just in case.

Personally I would stay with the double lines going along the door line from front to rear only. But that's it. Cars the have scroll work around door locks and side orginal emblems looks way to cheesy.

Almost like seeing a car with one of those "Foxy Lady" front license plates and some 50+ year old has been, "bar fly" woman driving it.

Yeah I guess it is just my taste. I would just get the usual set of double lines along the side character line of the car. I've seen Hondas with pins that have a little "H" emblem on the front fender. I'd probably get something like that.

About 4 out of 5 people I talk say don't do it. I think I am going to wait and see until i come across a TL with pinstripes to see what it looks like overall on the car.

Have a friend that says they catch a bunch of wax that you can never scrape out too, I'll have to look into this.

Thanks for the opinions guys!

Here is an old pic of my car with the pin stripe:

And here is a recent pic of my car without the pinstripe:

Now you can decide. IMO, it looks way better without the pinstripe.
