OK, I'm trying to resurrect this thread. To date, there are orders for nine units. We need twenty to get production rolling. Too bad more TL'ers do not see the value here. Monitoring tranny oil temperature alone is worth it. True, it won't save your tranny but it would definately give you an early warning and might just save you from getting stuck or worse an accident. The other guage is totally open. Personally, I trust an oil pressure guage more than an idiot light. Or maybe a voltmeter for those with kick a$$ sound systems? Wouldn't an early sign that the alternator is going south be worth it? Might save some expensive equipment. Not worth the investment of $53 to monitor the vitals of your car? The Auto Meter gauges run about $45 to $65 depending on the unit. Any auto upholstery shop can add the fabric to match. SO, for about $200, you get a really awesome CUSTOM mod that looks great and gives you eyes to the internals of your $30,000 TL. How many other mods can we do to our cars for $200. Not much! Is it worth it? YES!! SIGN UP!!! :banghead:

People will buy it, after it is made and in stock...

I guess we will just need to wait for some time before it gets done. Once pictures are supplied many will jump on the bandwagon.

This is way too easy a project to be complete rice if done wrong. I really want to see the finished product before even thinking about it...

I've never meet scalbert but look at what the guy does with his ride and how he does it. He and ModAddict know at least as much, if not more, about the TL/CL than anyone I've seen post. If it was looking ricey or just plain stupid, I doubt he would propose it in the first place. He has professed no financial gain from it, just trying to get it going. For $53.97, it seems worth the risk (which is little).

puulease! this is so simple! abs plastic dual gauge pod w/ parchment fabric! or you could even paint the gauge pod parchment color, and it would still look good!

They will not be covered in fabric. Painted or un-painted are your choices. The matching painted passenger side is about $19 from http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/ , if you want it to match your new A-pillar gauge pod.

Cool, another option. Either get the gauge pod covered in fabric OR buy a painted one for $19. This is getting even easier!

As far as shelling out $60 for results, I could care less about the cost. It had more to do with the cosmetic package in the long run...Certainly I don't doubt scalbert, smitty, or modaddict at all, but they aren't the ones manufacturing the product to begin with.

But I think someone else pointed out something we all overlooked, and that is most important: Where's the dyno?

Thats okay... when you pay 79-89 or even 99 plus shipping for it through LOTEK after our GB is done then you will kick yourself in the ass...

P.S. I don't see why some of you guys do not jump on... you can easily sell the pod on e-bay or the Blackmarket if you do not like it... I run into people all the time that ask me where I got this part or that part since they have the same car but do not know about A-CL or A-TL..

That's what I was thinking also but after following all the discussions from scalbert and ModAddict, I might go with a boost gauge and A/F. With the tranny cooler, I am not as concerned about the fluid temp. Oil pressure is always a great thing to monitor. Final decision will be made when I have the gauge pod in my hands which seems to be getting closer!

Isn't this the gauge pod thread??

Whatever works b/t Comptech and/or Opak! Just asking here, why do you think the Opak is a pipe dream?

I wonder why Hondata does not come up with something. It appears they concentrate on Honda 4cyl. motors.
