Cool

Way cool! That look GREAT. I was looking at mine in a parking lot, and noticing how high the ass end sits! Definalty needs to be lowered.

How's the clearance issue with speed bumps and the like?

Sweet Car!

Thumbs up

Very impressive. This "completes" the look. Makes it look even more serious!

Couple questions:

1. Cost- Always comes down to $$
2. Ride- Do their springs change any ride characteristics in any way?
3. Height- How much do they lower the car?

And great photos as well!

Cost: TOO much. I paid cost for the springs... but alignment and install was a total rip. I've had those ninja shops install springs for 30 bucks before. So paying 350 bucks was a serious shock. But, it is aligned, done right and covered under warranty. So, oh well. I'm pretty sure you have to remove almost all the rear interior to align the sucker.

Ride, not sure... feels about the same, but I didn't spend too much time in the stock version. Little more bounce, but no lean.

I believe it's 1.5 in front and 1 in rear. I'll compare when it settles.

Closer, the pics look great! Are the wheels the stock wheels or aftermarket? I saw a post about 19's.

Closer, that looks like Bellevue Acura in Bellevue, WA. What kind of a deal did you get on the car? Who was the salesmen? I am going to try to buy a Type S there next month. Any heads up is appreciated.

Get Ian Seitz. He's a younger guy, so I could actually relate to him. I wasn't expecting a deal or anything... I was fine with MSRP. But, he's a straight shooter. He won't low ball and lie to your face like so many places will. He knows a bit about aftermarket to... so he'll talk comptech and what not. Almost everyone I know got their cars through him.

That parts guy knows his stuff too.

Closer,

Can you give us the details on the springs? I went to the Comptech link, and the listed springs only go to the '00 TL.

What is the part number. Did you change the shocks?

How did you get this done without screwing up the waranty?

Enquiring Minds want to know.....

the spring part # is 61.1051, its the same as for 99-01 TL... and u gotta talk to the service manager of the dealership before you get this done and they will let you know where or not this will be covered... some seem to honor comptech, most will not...

Closer: sorry for answering questions meant for you...

and for the rest of you folks, check out this link, i posted pics of my black tls lowered with the same comptech springs:

from what I have gathered. the Acura department has to honor warranty when dealing with Comptech. Comptech is the only licensed supplier that is fully approved by acura. Don't let them tell you that warranty is affected, it is not

I'm sure I won't get many arguments in saying that its a given that the car MUST be lowered.

What a difference. The springs definitely separate the men from the boys.

I'm just flat out salivating.

Nice job, congrats!

I also bought my TL-S from Ian Seitz at Acura of Bellevue. Nice guy. He kept telling me about some guy who was having the Comptech mods put on his TL-S. That must have been you, Closer.

Comp-Time, if you see an Aegean Blue TL-S pulling into/out of Sahalee, that's me. I picked up the car on Friday and had a great weekend playing with my new toy. I'm having a hard time waiting for the break-in period to end...just too much temptation.
