What percentage you get will depend on what state you live in. Depending on where you live you can get away with going a bit over the legal limit more so in some places than others.

I don't have pics that I can post but I got my SSM with 18% all the way around it is perfect. I can still see at night and during the day it is great for the Florida heat.

In Florida 18% is legal for the rear side windows and the back window but it isn't legal for the front sides. I went ahead and did the front sides the same anyway since I think I can get way with it. I haven't heard that Florida is that strict on 18% on the front. Now I had gotten 5% anywhere then I'm sure I'd be stopped and ticketed.

So bottom line is to find out what your state limits are and then make your choice of what to get.

Silver TL-S with 35% tin all around

I just bought my tl about 2 weeks ago, and I had to put
tint as soon as possible

Originally I was planning to put 50% all around, but
most people recommended 35% and I am glad
I listen to them, it looks perfect:

car has very nice classy look now:
black interior with mild tint and silver exterior.

I hated how tint looked on my previous car, 35 sides, and 15 back,
In my opinion % should be the same on all windows and 15 was simply too dark to see anything at night.

P.S. I am going to take some pictures tomorrow with my digital
camera, and I'll post them as soon as I can.

i am in california. is there a percentage that is not legal? i think i am only going to do the rear windows, including the rear one. my only concern is that it may look odd with no tint on the front windows.

I have seen a lot of cars here in Chicago with just tints on their back windows + rear window and IMO it looks fugly...You mine as well just get the front ones tinted as well. If you're looking for something dark but can still see through them, get 20%. And if you happen so see a cop approaching, just roll down your front windows real quick!

here in vancouver, you're only allow to tint the rear quarter windows, so a lot of cars have this look you're talking about. but ppl just go ahead and tint the front too. but then cops will pull u over for it, its so annoying

I think that in cali u can only do the rears.(only the fronts can be done if it came from the dealer that way.)
when i lived there what i did was do the rears the legal limit
and then did the fronts a few shades lighter.
it kept te cops off my back and it also kept the disparity between the 2 at a minimum.

35% all around, yeah it's illegal to have any tint on driver side windows at all in California, but I never had problems with lightly
tinted windows before.

On the picture tint looks very light, but in reality it's a little bit
darker, and inside you notice a big difference, the tape that was used on my car reduces heat by 44% and only letting 35% of sun light to get through.

I have Formula One Ultimate 35% all around, and I'm in FFax county. I parked next to a cop twice at the bank near me and neither gave my car a second glance. I agree that 35% all around shouldn't get you in trouble, even if it is technically illegal in your state. (In VA, the legal limit is 50% fronts, 35% rears/rear windshield).

In California, your front side windows can not have any tint at
all, but I think in the back you can have as dark as you want.

Did you guys tint at the store or by yourself?
If you did it by yourself, how did you do that?

Unless you know how to tint, it isn't usually a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) type project. You can tell if people have put tints on themselves b/c it *WILL* leave bubbles. I suggest going to a window tint shop and getting it professionally done. I am almost positive that everyone on this site got their tints down professionally.

Tint + Yourself + TL =
