just fogs

when i replaced my broken lens i just tookem out. now they shine way to either side of the car so you can see deer alot better. even with the maxgolds in with out the metal peices it was alot brighter, some say this messes up the housings and others say it doesn't. idk i'll llet you know.

yea my fogs are way high they shoot way farther than my headlights. i got the kit off ebay. 190 and change. round 220 shipped. some reason the one wouldn't work unless it was hardwired. the other one just clipped right into the stock socket. tha pattern is awesome i might add. u can see way off to the side which is awesome for deer and what not. i got to aim them down quite a bit. and now im looking for a pair of bulbs for the headlights. o and they look hot as hell comign down the road. my friend saw me coming and called me up and said that looks incredible. idk the link off hand from where i got them. but it was blackboxcarputers or something off ebay. the kit is made by layos and they are from japan cause the warentee says with your legal purchase in japan. i'll take more pics after i clean her up this week.

Those look bright! I'm still mad at Acura for not putting fog lights on the 99 - 01.

I would not want to be the guy in front of you. A lot of glare from those fogs to piss someone off.

The metal piece was meant to help CUT the light before it hits the reflector. That metal piece is how our headlamps have that distinct horizontal cut at the top of the beam. I was thinking about doing the same with the fogs..... BUT.. I had talked with our HID rep at work. He says BAD IDEA. The heat prduced by the bulb will kill the housings within a month or two. Also the effective light output from the foglamps is almost none. The reflector cannot produce a beam from that light. It's like trying to fill up a shotglass with a fire-hose.

But it's bright as hell and looks cool.

actually i think the beam looks better than my headlights. once its adjusted down quite a bit it will be a pretty damn good beam. if i shut my headlights off the fog beam looks very good for such a little housing. i'll take pics from inside the car tonight maybe. got some studying to do.

Now all you got to do is replace your 4300K headlights with 6000K bulbs so they match. Now that would look sick!

currently waiting for more money... stay tuned. and if any one has a set of 6000k bulbs or know a place to get them relitivly cheap let me know. tonight i readjusted the beam down a bit and the beam ends now where the headlights start. so i think it works fine and doesn't blind people as much as it did b4.

Actually, the light output is definitely better than halogen, though I didn't remove the metal piece. I have a huge sheet of of light in front and to the sides of my car. Glare is not a factor at all. I also aimed the fogs a bit higher so that now it fills in the gaps that the headlights could not cover. Awesome work, you will be very happy with your results, but I do fear for your housings if heat becomes a major issue. Try touching the glass of the fog housing after you've had them running for a while to see if it's hot... don't burn yourself though.

Love the light output on the road but how can you say that glare is not a factor especially when you aim them up. There is some glare with the HID fogs, just look at the car 10 to 15 ft away. The glass wont burn, MUCH cooler than the 55W halogens.

Agreed that there is some light bleeding, but i've kept them low enough so that other cars don't have problems. The pattern is still below bumpers out to a bit over 15 ft.
