Picked UP Wife's '03 Accord V6-EX Navi

WOW!

The interior is much more rich than my '03 TLS-Navi.

The navigation system is far and away better than the TL. The voice control is amazing, it has a built in trip computer, and it controls the radio and A/C. The screen can be set up with a split screen for directions. You can choose between a man's or woman's voice and the clock and time zone set automatically. Oh yeah, it also has a calendar and calculator built-in. The calculator will convert metric to English, liters to gallons, etc.

The LED dash is also very bright and easy to read. Although, I wish the speedometer was not so large.

If this car had Xenon lights, I would consider trading my TL.

Also, the rear seats fold down too.

No heated mirrors or memory seats.

Just FYI. Nice ride.

While the appearance of the front end was suspect, we got the driving/fog lights and it really helps the look.

Congrats on the wife's new car! I'll have to go to my local Honda dealership and check out that Navi for myself, too!

(Makes you wonder what's in store for future TLs when they goose the HP and add Navi to Accords...)

Later,

V.

while the new accord sounds really nice, i would much rather wait for the 2004 TL and then if i like it, buy the 2005 TL since they would incorporate all the refinements and correct all the defects by then.

I am one of the few on this board who likes the new Accord sedan. Did you get the spoiler as I hate to say it, but that back end needs it. It is however (the back end), growing on me.

BTW, my 98 Accord has the folding rear seat, and I still cannot get over the fact my more expensive TL does not. Who knows why.

My wife has an 03 V6 coupe, it's really nice. She didn't get the navi though, I'm paying for it, so I didn't get that option! She wanted it though It is a very nice car, it has to go back to the dealer, our heated seats don't heat up AT ALL. Do yours get very warm? Other than that it is a very nice car, very smooth, and much quicker than the 6th gen. Those LED gauges are almost too bright at night, I have to turn them down, it almost blinds you! But they do look nice. Overall, very nice car, I'm impressed with it, especially for the price.

To answer the seat question, they get plenty warm, although it seems as thought the passenger seat still does not get back heat. Still researching, it has not been very cold.

No rear spoiler, the back has really grown on me. Like I mentioned, I did not love the front, but the extra lights help.

One other Navi update... Just tried the DVD in my TL and the system says the disc is incorrect, contact my dealer.

The Accord Navi has a PC card slot like the 99 TL's. Looks like they are planning for some type of expansion.

When I called the dealer, they told me the passenger seat back does not get warm, something to do with the side airbags or something like that. There is definately something wrong with ours, I can't feel a thing!

The TL is the same way on the passenger side.

Too bad the damn disk don't work in the TL. I hope they give a decent upgrade to the unit at the next Rev.

How soon until someone sticks an Accord Navi in the TL to see if it works? (hint hint). Disclaimer, you burn out your navi don't blame me.

That Navi must add a couple grand, plus your 6 yr. warranty. We got ours for 25,500 out the door!

Manual will always be faster than an automatic.

Yeah, EX V6 coupe, everything you listed besides the navi and the foglights. My buddy was the dealer who sold it to us, so maybe we got somewhat of a deal

Wow, either way a good deal.

I felt like I did OK because it was a new model. I know it will be cheaper next year.

BTW, the Accord also has tilt and telescopic steering. I cannot imagine the next TL breaking the 5 second barrier. So many changes would be required and I do not think we are there..... Yet.

congrats on the new Accord. my 03 EX-L rules i agree with you about the size of the speedometer - i wish it was just a bit smaller. the steering wheel cuts off the top of it for me.

as for the heated seats - in my owner's manual it says the passenger seat back does not heat because of the sensors for Honda's side air bag disabling routine.

i went with the 4cyl this time because i wanted the 5-speed and i was done with feeding a V6 a tank of gas every week. this is the first Accord in the states to get a DOHC unit. and to boot, there's a timing chain instead of a belt. nice job, Honda! about time for that. the iVTEC really makes the lower RPMs rock. i haven't broken 1,000 miles yet so i'm still in the baby-ing stage but just revving up tp 3,500 RPMs at partial throttle you can feel her pulling tough.

it's nice to be in a Honda again. i should have never left.

Then why did you leave?

I am assuming your last car was a VW, hence your SN (I could be wrong).
