Talking !! Picked Up My Car This Afternoon !!

Yup... went to get it at lunch time. Let me tell you, I did not want to come back to work. What a ride. I'm going to take it easy for the first couple hundred miles, but I can't wait to be able to open it up. Now.... where did I put that mod list?? I'll snap some pics and have them up hopefully tomorrow!!

Do yourself a favor and wait at least 600 miles before getting over 4000-5000 rpms. A couple of hundred miles break in is probably not the smartest move if you're going to keep the car for a while. Be patient, be disciplined, avoid instant gratification.

Yeah, that's what I meant by a couple hundred miles. I actually usually take it easy for the first 1k, just to be safe.....

jb- Congrats!! I know you will make full use of your new toy..
ABP is such a beautiful color.. just enjoy it. Make sure to get some pics that will make us jealous!!

I'm waiting til 2004 before I think about getting another car.. I'm thinking Yellow S2000 maybe?? That is if they don't come out with a Red TL-S!

I don't think welcome is appropriate cuz you have more post here than most TL-S owners..

So what's the first mod planned??

I've had my car for almost 2 months and I love driving my car after work. I find excuses just to drive it and I can't stop staring at it when I walk away from it. You'll love it!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck man, it's gonna be hard breaking it in. I had a hard time controlling myself from feeling the full 260 ponies

re: wow

Wow, thanks for all of the replies. I couldn't wait to get out of work last night so I could drive it home, but I had a softball game, so I didn't get to cruise home until around 7pm. Man, what a ride. This car is so smooth, it makes my old CL feel like a Civic. I got home last night, put my acura-tl.com stickers on , put the hood portion of the bra on (just like oblio98), and put my CDs in the car. I made an appointment for Friday to get my window's tinted. First thing I'll probably do is either intake or exhaust. I'm thinking exhaust b/c for some reason, they're just begging to be upgraded (mostly for looks). We'll see though.....

Juniorbean, you should get some kind of an award for patience. It took me nearly nine months to get my car from the time I decided on it, and you've gone over 10 months! Obviously you picked the right color. You certainly had enough time to think about it. Admit it, it was the pics of Mr. Hyde's ride that clinched it, right?

As for mods, based on your two choices, I would go with the exhaust first. Pick up the springs as soon as possible, too.

re: Rman

Yeah... I've been searching for a while... ever since the CL-S came out!! I've been waiting for the finances to settle and I made my move. I would've probably bought a CL-S last year, but I got engaged, so I bought a ring, and now we have a wedding to pay for. It all worked out though as I'm glad the TL-S was launched. I like the 4-door. I've always been a "blue" guy. My Sunfire was blue, my CL was blue, now my TL is blue. Mr. Hyde's was the first I saw in person (at the Park Ave. meet), but I made my decision on that car around launch time!!

As for the mods... I just ordered the CompTech exhausts from Tim today!! Intake is next on the list... but I'm going to wait on that for now. Windows get tinted Friday, then time to let the money settle for a while before I do anything else.....

I know... I got home early last night (on time), so I whipped out my digi cam and snapped about 10 pics. Well, I get to my CPU to download them and they're all blurry.... I'm like WTF, this is a brand new camera!? Turns out I had macro mode on from the last time I took pics, so all of the pictures came out blurry. I'm going to take more today and upload them tonight!!

Ahh ain't it great!

I offered to drive everywhere the first few weeks just to get that 600 miles in as quickly as possible.

I actually took it up close to 6000 a couple of times before the 600.

It's been over 4 months since I've had mine and I still enjoy going for a ride. And I don't think that's going to change either.
