Tire Question

I visit discounttire.com tryin to get the right size tire and it gave me a whole list of what tires I can use and I really wanted to get 18" cause Im planning to drop the car at least 2in. And they carrying 225/40/18 I was wondering if I go any wider than that would it still be aight to use cause i think 225 is not enough I was more looking for either 235 or 245 if anybody can suggest me a tire that carries and it is okay to use.

225 is plenty...your not a race car...if you go wider you'll definitely have rubbing issues...with rolled or no rolled fenders. You'll also need to find some really HIGH offset wheels like +55 offsets.

from what i've learned so far...
for 18x7.5 rims you need at least 43 offset for 225 tires and 48 offset for 235 tires. in both cases you would have to either roll the fenders or shave the platic bumper tap. mine is 43 offset with 235 tires i both rolled and shaved the fenders and it still rubs with 3 people in the back . hope this helps

all you need to do really is add a huge comptech sticker on the hood ( 15 hp increase ) and a Huge silver racing wing ( 5hp increase ) and you should be done other than that phat car

what offset are your wheels? Mine are +45 with the plastic tab shaved and the fenders slightly rolled and I think I still rub a little bit. did you roll the fenders or did you have some one do it?

mine is +43 with 235 tires.....i rolled the fenders myself using rubber mallet. the fender lips are actually quite easy to roll although it still rubs after all

Nice wheels. But don't soil them by running them in these cold weather with all the snow and salt

Car looks nice, out of curiousity, what made you choose the TL-P over the type-S?

I usually don't push my cars to its limits, and for me 225hp was good enough plus the seats in the TLS was too hard for me. I did not really feel '2k' worth of differnce between TL and TLS in the acceleration(I usually keep my rpm under 3000) so I decided to rather spend that money on wheels and etc.. just my thoughts

btw thanks for all the replies.
