PIAA vs. Sylvania vs. CATZ
Looking for some input as to which fog light replacement bulb will most closely match the stock HID headlights on a 2003 TLS.
I'd like to see some pics if you got'em
Thanks
- Sylvania Silverstars (9006ST)
- PIAA Xtreme White Plus (PIAA19616)
- CATZ Galaxy Whites (CATZ-9006)
I'd like to see some pics if you got'em
Thanks

I just installed the Sylvania Silverstars tonight ..... I'll let you know how they fare. PM me if you want simple painless install instructions without having to remove the fog housing.

I just put in the PIAA Xtreme White. It is definitely brighter than stock, but it is NOT extremely white. Heck, it looks like stock, but brighter. Don't waste your money on it and get the Silverstars

I just hit www.autobulbdepot.com and they had a comparison chart of bulbs and the Catz Galaxy White runs at the same temperature as the average HID light. I'm not saying that the TL lights are the average, but they did mention the match. The Catz bulbs are $58.45/pair plus shipping at the site. They also specify 9005 bulbs for the high beams - anyone change those?

i got the 9005 CATZ galaxy white in my highs...i think they are really close in color to the HIDs...the CATZ actually appear slightly whiter/bluer when you have both highs and lows on and look at them next to each other

Yaron: the HIDs actually need to warm up too. both look very similar after about 1-3 mins.
mrgtr: not sure how long they will last, but since they are made by the same company that make our HID bulbs, I'm assuming the quality is very good and the should last quite a while. I've had mine for about 5 months no problems. Also, haven't had to use them in the fog yet. There's acutally a really good thread on FOG somewhere. Try a search for it. It explains in depth about YELLOW fogs vs WHITE fogs and the reasoning behind why you might choose one over the other, in addition to fog placement.

I have the "Xenon Plus" bulbs in my fogs. They look bluish from up close, but from far away, they match the HID's almost perfectly.
