Question Phillips 6000K D2R for $190 shipped

There is a website that sells 4300K D2S bulbs for 150.00 so I e-mailed him and asked how much is 6000K D2R bulb. He replied and said 189.99 shipped. :wow: He told me those are brand new set of Phillips D2R bulbs.

That's 100 less than Autolamponline. The only thing I am worrying is that he is from Taiwan and want me to pay him using Bidpay.com

What you guys think?? Would you take a chance and buy it from him? Here is website.

HID

The only thing I am curious is that he uses different e-mail address than one on the web site. Guys I need some input.

Have anyone bought something from him before???

It "looks" good, but isnt that how alot of things seem on the net. I dont know man it "looks good", maybe too good to be true, kind of like an infomercial thing.

These 6000K bulbs are more bluer & purplish color compares to stock 4300K bulbs.

That is a sweet color blue...but $190 is a bit much for me for a change in color...but I'm sure that is a great price compared to what others are selling them for. Wish I had them though

Hey Paul, you buy it and let us know.

Damn, $190 sounds too good to be true. If it is true I would buy it in a heartbeat. Is it a reputable website?

is that pic comparing the same lights as our stock TLs? if so, I think the pic is way off. The stock one doesn't look blue at all, even when covering up the comparison pic of the 6000K.

I dont trust it. 100 less coming from tawain? Please these bulbs are made in Germany. The real source couldn't possibly discount them enough to be sold to a guy from taiwan to sell at 100 less. He would have to buy a tremendous quantity. I think they are fake copies and not the real bulbs. They may even look purple but I doubt they will last.

its very true, the color difference is amazing and I paid 350$ for mine when they came out...dont regret it one bit either...my HID output is the $hit and 4200K HID sucks...it looks yellow as hell in the day and night compared to 6000K...i wouldn't do that, there is a group buy on a cu ra world.com in the forsale forum and you will get them no doubt for ten dollars more and piece of mind...Shyne

You like taking risks in life, eh Paul? Well, I do hope you get your bulbs from the guy, even though his business doesn't have its own email domain name and he's left with using Yahoo email.
Try to get a warranty, if you can.

Make sure you pay with credit card, so you could always refuse payment if he never sends the bulbs.

I'm gonna be getting 6000K Osram bulbs soon too. I figured that since Osram (Sylvania) makes our stock bulbs, that the 6000K version should be a good match for our ballasts. Wish me luck too.

Thanks Erwen,

I was thinking about getting D2S first time but I am not really sure about little modification that other member told me. So I've decided to stick with D2R bulbs.

It's not that, but I think it is good chance to get the 6000K bulbs for myself and hook up some of members here, too.

Good luck on your bulb too Josh.

I don't see how bidpal or paypal would backfire? If the dude in Taiwan doesn't ship Paul's order, Paul can contact bidpal. They in turn will find out what happened and try to resolve the issue. If the seller is a flake, bidpal will slap the guy silly (you have to provide credit card information, etc.). It may take longer than using your credit card to get a refund, but you will get a refund via the 3rd party go-between if fraud is involved. At least that's my understanding of paypal. Somebody tell me I'm wrong about this? If I'm wrong, why would anyone use this in the first place. Might as well just send check or money order direct if the 3rd party doesn't provide any protection.

A M E N , Patrick!!!

Totally agree and that's the reason I've use credit card purchase on Paypal. To protect from the fraud.

But just looking at the way he responded me, I am just gonna seat back and wait for my bulbs come in. I'll let you guys know.

Paypal CLAIMS to provide protection...in reality, they won't do sh*t for you. If you wire the money into their account and they took the money out, Paypal can't do jack....I wired $35 to a guy, who flaked on me. I called paypal...they said they can't give me any of his private info (bank acct., address, etc)..it's the law. They said they froze his paypal account (but he pulled all the funds out already so it's just a "shell" now..what's good in freezing it?)...and they will investigate....after 3 years, they still investigate....Investigate my a** !!!

THe saler of this, using paypal, free email account and a POBOX address....and worse of all, OUT OF THE COUNTRY....all these are pointing to one thing....FRAUD! Just imagine, what if they guy grap the money and run, will you go to Taiwain to get the money? Spending $1000 plus plane tickets to get $200 back? And what do you have? A PO Box, if you get there, how do you track him? Besides, it's out the country. He might have bunch of gangster in Chinatown protecting his little a**...what do you have? And on his side, he is operating out of the US. If he flake, you refuse the charges, cc more than likely won't go to Taiwan to get his a**...(too costly...hell sometimes they don't even go to those in US) so he pockets the money....

Anyways, I hope it's not a fake but good luck to the brave ones. I wait for your good news.

Hmm...thanks for the info on PayPal you guys. But what if you use a major credit card to fund the PayPal transaction? Won't you have the support and backing of the credit card?

Exactly!! That's why I used my credit card this time. I don't care if paypal pays him or not. I just have to block the charge from my credit card to paypal. :p

Dude, don't mean to bust your bubble but I've done this in the past..read my post above. A guy flaked me of some $$$ from Paypal (I used a credit card through paypal). I Paypal and filed a complaint as well as calling the CC company to refute the charge. Both said they will investigate...the CC took the charge off my balance "for now" while they are investigating. Basically since Paypal get your money out of the CC, they call paypal and ask if this withdraw was "authorized"...obviously yes, so the charge was "legal"...they reverted the charge back to my account and basically said that I have to work with Paypal to solve this issue since I authorized Paypal to withdraw and thus Paypal should refund if need be. 3 years later, paypal still investigating.....looks like they will be investigating until the Company close down....but it's a small amount so I didn't care too much. I wouldn't risk it if i were you

I really appreciate for your opinion, buddy.
I am doing this for all of my friends who is looking for the 6000K bulbs.

He is paypal Verified Premier Member who has 3450 feedbacks on his paypal account. I don't think the guy like him would try to cheat and loose all of his feedback history on paypal account. Would you??

If he had no paypal history whatsoever, that's different story.

I would take risk!!!

If he flacked on me however, all of us will know and there will be no more victims like me......at least!!

As long as you do your research and check out everything you can do on your side, then's its a calculated and acceptable risk.
