Philips 6000k D2S instead of D2R??

Ok i know our cars are D2R , but i'm getting a good deal on some philips 6000k D2S bulbs but my question was, is it going to look different? anyone have the d2s instead of the d2r's? Is the light output, color still gonna be the same? i know you have to modify it al lil to make them fit, thats fine. Just want to know if they'll be just as good as the D2R;s,

also is the beam pattern gonna be all over the place since its for projectors??

Thanks guys

The R in D2R stands for reflector. I havent seen much difference betweent the two. Looking at the bulb you can see the reflector and maybe that means less light but who knows. As far as the base of the bulb and all that it is the same. Good luck.

Sup BLaCk Acc. I see you have a 99 TL also. Well so do I and I have the D2S on my car. You already know about the little modification to make it fit. Don't worry, the beam pattern will be just the same as stock. I haven't compared my 6000K D2S to a 6000K D2R on a 99 TL so I can't compare. But mine does look bluer than a 02+ TL/TL-S with 6000K D2S. I guess it has something to do with our diffuser.

IMO, I think the D2S is just a little brighter (bluer) because it doesn't have that black stripe going down the length of the bulb like the D2R have.

Hope this helps you.

D2S = Has a more concentrated light than D2R bulbs since the D2S bulb is used for projector-style headlights.
D2R = Used for non-projector-style headlights and has a wider width of beam.

The 6000k D2S will light up the road just like the stock ones but it won't be as bright. Remember, you get the optimum light output with the stock lights. With the 6000k, you will get a bluish output therefore just a little less light on the road.

Sorry, I don't have any pics on being inside the car looking out.
