A performance chip for our car

I don't post here very often. I mostly use this site for DIY info. Over the years ive noticed that many here believe that there is no performance chips available for our cars. I have two ECU mods installed in my car. I have most of the standard mods like H/I/E spacers etc. I have no idea how much power i put down to the wheels with the ECU mods. I paid half the price of what they cost on these websites. I purchased my ECU upgrades in 2008 from a site that no longer exists. The first mod i purchased was an Import ECU Upgrade Kit
Part #: 65001 from Jet Chip.

My car performed pretty well after that mod. Although i now have to use premium gas and my mileage dipped. The second mod was the Venom 400 Performance Control Module.

This mod works great along with the one from Jet Chip. You just have to keep an eye on the tranny when its activated because it will red line every gear, except 1st, unless you shift manually. Ive had both these mods installed since 2008 and i have zero problems. Well, i do go through motor mounts a lot faster these days.

We have to use premium in our cars anyway. And unless you did a before and after dyno it kinda means nothing, Plus our ECUs cant be reprogrammed and most all add on units get overwritten by our ecu and any gains it had were for a short time and the ecu compensates and you loose any benefit from it (proven by others over the years
)

NOW you have to run 91?!
wow man,, were you an 87 person who believes that caused no damage or mpg drop?
Do you think carbon buildup is imaginary too?

back to the owner book,, and a dyno run,,, will serve to educate you on TL operation

Keep stressting 2nd and 3rd gear,especially do max rpm downshifts into those gears~
that new 6 speed you have to install will be much faster than current setup

well i guess the only good thing about this scam is that his car will last longer now that he is running 91 octane. this will probably explain why he felt a gain in power, because the engine was no longer retarded.
