PERFECT fit foglights for 1999-2001 Acura 3.2 TL

i have manufacturers working with me in China and Taiwan. I am currently in the process of manufacturing foglights that will fit our cars perfectly. Now, i'm not 100% sure i can get these foglights for us, but it's worth a try.

I need to know how much you guys would pay MAX for a pair of foglights that would fit perfect. The problem is, it may be costly to get custom fogs (especially if i'm only ordering a few.. they might not even make them for us). Please reply to this post with a MAX price you'd pay, and if you're interested in it. Thank you!

Talk to Tim (the owner of this site and autocarparts.com. I'd order from him, not you. Nothing personal, but Tim's reputation is awesome and I don't know you.

Tim will work with you and be able to talk numbers if you turn out to be legit, he would probably buy enough pairs to get the price down and sell them on his site. Here's his email:

I already have PIAA 1700x which I love... so I am not in the market for another set.

As a general idea, your fogs should be competitve with the aftermarket ones. Even if they are custom made to fit, if those PIAA's were cheaper, I'm sure there will be more customers who'd buy PIAA's over your custom made fogs, considering the repuation for quality. PIAA is world-wide. Your manufacturer is no-name. Who do you think ppl will choose??

Nothing personal, man. I think many members on this board apprecate your efforts. Good luck.

we'll see about that. None of the Piaas fit that good. 1700x , IMO, doesn't look too good on our cars (my opinion. .no offense to you guys). Nothing beats a perfect fitting foglight. (well nothing beats the OEM perfect fitting foglight, but we don't have that option). The thing is, you guys want your cars to look clean right? Even though the foglight might not be name brand, it works right? I dono't know about you guys, but i'd rather have a generic foglight that fits PERFECT than a foglight that is REALLY REALLY REALLY good that doesn't look like it belongs on our car. I'd pay more for the PERFECT fit one.

BTW. i'm also gonna try and work on Gauges for our car (that look kinda like the Lexus GS300 gauges).

I'll see what i can do. As for the $200 max price, it's probably gonna be more than that. And for those that have the piaas: i'm pretty sure that when you see people with custom fogs that fit perfect, you'd probably get rid of your piaas and get new ones.

I'm open minded.
If you can come up with something that looks hella good for a reasonable price, I might consider switching.

Neah... I've gotten lots of complements about my piaa's when I got them on with my HIDs. Girls are like "oooh". You can take your perfectly fitting lights and display 'em at a carshow. I'll take my PIAA's (with my HIDs) over some no name any day. I'm sure if you've actually had PIAAs for a while, then you'd wouldn't say the things you say about them.

i'll try as hard as i can to get it done, but since i'm still in school i'm gonna be really really busy. It might take a while. I'm currently trying to get a hold of the manufacturers. I just thought of the idea of making the foglights myself today. Hopefully something good will come out of this.

HaHa Liutang:

"Neah... I've gotten lots of complements about my piaa's when I got them on with my HIDs. Girls are like "oooh". You can take your perfectly fitting lights and display 'em at a carshow. That's funny. The thing is you can't just say "over some no name." You should be saying "over some no name THAT FITS." And if that's the case, i'll bet my left nut the averge person will like the car with the fitting foglight than the one that looks like it was added onto the car (and not factory). It doesn't matter if yours are HIDs and worth $1000000000. What matters is how it looks in the end. If you got a TL you have to make it look clean (IMO, piaas are a alternative to the solution: foglights that fit).

has anyone tried to make a mold of the foglights before on this forum? it'd be a lot easier if i could also get some contact info or some help on this. Thanks!

danng.. have you guys seen the lexus gauges. They look tite. I think the indiglo gauges look retarded. They make your car look cheap. The GS300 gauges use some type of white light. It looks tite and classy.

agreed with mhsu408 has said. Perfect fit fogs will look better than the HID fogs, during the day. If you can come down to it, I guess you can retro fit HID's in the perfect fit...an option I might look at in my Inspire fogs.

UPDATE: i have spoken with the manufacturers and they say that the base unit of the lamp may be a piaa. They will just custom mold the plastic so that it fits our bumpers perfectly. thus, the ballast itself will be brand name (hella, piaa, catz).

Ok.. NOW we're getting somewhere. That's something I can get on board with. What's the point of a "fitting" fog light over something that look GREAT when turned on. I don't care if it looks "added on". Hell, that's one of the attributes of modding your car, right? You can keep your left nut, I'm not interested.

I'm definetly interested in these fogs as long as they don't cost way too much. Also what I want to take into consideration is if we can install these fogs ourselves and are we able to convert these fogs to HIDs with a conversion kit if we wanted to

while you're contacting your buddies in Asia about custom foglights, maybe you can look into manufacturing door sills? Tim and 850EX tried to get them done, but it didn't work out. I would be interested in getting aluminum door sills with either the word "Acura" or "Acura 3.2TL" etched on them. Similar to what Mercedes Benz has. But the price for this will have to be cheaper than for an Inspire door sill though. Just an idea for you to chew on.

If it is just a slip over shaped like a trapezoid that goes over a real set of Piaas, I don’t think people should pay over 50 US dollars, if they can get like 100 or more orders. I think it is a more reasonable price for a chromed lens and a plastic lens over it with not a lot of research in how the light disperses. After all, that is what you are talking about right, a slip over for Piaa fogs to compensate for the difference in shape and size?

So is it gonna be the one with square plastic cover like INSPIRE that will cover the whole corner pocket or round type PIAA w/proper fitting trim, just like mine?

Dude hopefully by the time it's all said and done I'll be in the market for the Blaze or SKP kit and I won't need the foglight custom fit thing anyways.

However, I wanted to say that I appreciate the effort in trying to get something done for our TL's. You might have come off the wrong way about putting down "add-on" PIAA's, but hey...that's what some people like. Either way anytime someone sticks they neck out to get us some more parts, I'm appreciative. Nate is one of those guys: I don't need or particularly want the parts he's working for, but i greatly appreciate the effort to get something nice for all of us as a whole.

Thanks man. Too bad more people aren't supportive, maybe we would have more thangs to pimp on our rides.
