Passenger sit bolt question. Trying to install goose neck mount.

Hello guys,

Once again I need your help. I bought a "goose neck" sattelite receiver mount on ebay. The insatllation instruction says, it attach it to passenger sit 10mm black bolt.
But the bolt is too short to hold the mount and also I can't remove the washer.
I bought two 10mm screwes from a hardware store :-), but they don't fit.

Do you guys have any suggestions ?

Thank you in advance.

The instruction says to attach the mount to driver sit bolt. I tried, but the bold is too shor to hold the mount. Any ideas what I should do?

Thank you

I'm guessing you went and bought a 10-mm HEAD bolt and didn't match the thread.

Take out the factory bolt and take it to an auto parts store. They have these thread size measurers to find out the exact bolt specs. It will be a number that looks like 150 x 30. Once you find the thread specs, just get a longer bolt than the factory one and you'll be all set.

Or are you saying that the the receiver mount hole is too small for the bolt thickness??

If I could remove the washer from the bolt, then I'd have enough room to install the bracket ( around 3/16'').

Looks like the washer was attached before the treads were cut on a factory.

I guess it's time for a new bolt, then.

Pure Adrenaline, you are 100% correct 10mm bolt I bought at Home Depot didn't match the thread. I'd like to stop by PepBoys or AutoZone to get a longer bolt, but I didn't bring it with me to work today.

Do you guys have by any chance exact mesurement of the existing sit bolt?

Thank you again for sharing your knowlege.

I'll try to look it up on HGPeC and see if they list the thread specs.

Honda Genuine Parts e-Catalog

Sorry, car nerd talk.

Are you talking about the bolts that hold the seat down to the floor?? If so, the size is 10x20. You can just guestimate the length.

if the head of the bolt is 10 mm than the treads should be 1.00x6mm , if the head is 12mm than it should be 1.25x8mm , and head is 14mm than it should be 1.50x10mm
good luck !

(bodyman) think I got it right!
