Passed by the dealer today and saw something sad
I pulled into my dealer today and walked over to the dealer store to buy some touch up paint. On the way i saw a black TL that looked extremely dropped, but the butt was higher, kinda stock height i though. Upon further inspection, i saw the 2 front rims were bent bad and the tires were done. When i went inside i asked the guy what happened. He said apparently the girl was doing about 50 in a parking lot showing off and she hit those roll stones in the parking lots. She ran over one at that speed and the front end broke in half. The only thing holding the front up is the wheels. He said her suspension is done, her axle is done, control arms, everything he said has to be replaced, and the car will never be the same again. He said she was 16 and had the car for about 3 weeks. Her parents bought it used for her with only 13000 miles on. What a shame huh?

At least she didn't get anyone killed. New drivers should never get nice fast cars. Put them in a good old $hitbox and let them learn to appreciate it. Nobody shows off in $hity tanks and boats for cars.

Chances are you're going to smack up your first ride pretty soundly. I know I did, and so did all of my friends without exception. Giving a 16 year old driver a nice car is just asking for it.

My sister did the exact same thing to her car when she got it.
It was a new Altima. Poor car flew right over the thing without a problem And why does everyone on this board have a problem with kids having nice cars?

Now THAT'S a dumba$$! Reminds me of way backduring high school day's when one my friends drove a '85 Chrysler Voyager $hitbox. Were hanging out in a parking lot late, when we walked to a different spot. Ed realizing this, comes backing up across the lot fast and backs up right on one of those cement logs and went airborne, bigtime! LOL, we were already all feeling real good, but we laughed hard seeing that sh1t.

Think she's a little too young to be driving an expensive car. All drivers should start out with a crap car just to learn how to drive around and appreciate their next better car.

The person is clearly a moron, there was no reason for her to show it off, she deserves what she got....I am a young driver and i dont have a problem with young kids geting nice cars if they had one to learn on first and if they have proven that they can drive like a human being, but a girl is a different story, and you guys could say that im being sexest, etc. but girls that are that age are clearly horrible drivers and much worse than guys at that age, or at least thats how i see things

Well....
Whether it be a boy or girl, the young ones have to learn how to drive properly before they can sit behind a fast car. I have a teenage son (17) and he had a lead foot on the gas pedal though he realize it, he has to learn to ease off, that's why he is driving our camry 4 cylinder instead of the TL, just to be on the safe side.
BTW, I'm taking my 02 TL to the dealer to have the factory spoiler installed and a clear bra on the hood. Does anybody know of a hood deflector that fit the TL? The service guy say there's none because of the shape of the hood.

If women were the cause of more accidents then our rates would be higher. You think the insurance companies are doing some sort of reverse sexism? get real! Why on earth would they do that?
If you have legitimate stats that prove me wrong I will accept that - but what I don't accept is blanket statements that every woman is a bad driver!
And the remarks on this thread to that effect are very insulting.

IMO...the truth is i dont think anyone should beable to drive until they're 18...16 during certain hours with parent only or driving instructor...let s face it you cant vote until 18 why do you think should beable to drive 2-3 years earlier...conversly it is utterly rediculous that you cant drink until 21...complete bull****...this is america if im an adult then i decide when i drink and at 18 ,im an adult.
