Parking brake light won't turn off...

My parking brake light on my dash won't turn off. I comes on everytime I start the car. After about 15 min of driving it might turn off. However, the brake isn't engaged. Any ideas?

Mine stayed constantly on once in drive. Dealer said it was a stuck switch but that was probably a BS answer. I think they replaced the cap of the master cylinder.

Great, sounds like an easy fix. I'll check out the master cylinder/resevoir.

Ok, my TL did exactly the same damn thing. I couldnt figure out what it was when i first noticed the light staying on without the brake even engaged. I was already low on brake fluid too when it did occur so once i filled up the brake fluid full, the light went away and everything is normal again and has been since then. IM PRETTY SURE THATS WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IN YOUR CASE AS WELL as everyone else has stated the same fix. Later

Well the brake fluid is and was filled. Light still stays on.

Do you guys think that it's on because I new to flush and fill my brake fluid? It's been three years.

I checked the manual last night. It basically says bring the car in to the dealer and have them check it out. So I guess it could be a number of these wrong with the braking system? I would assume it would have to do with the fluid though because that's the only place for the sensor. Isn't it? Pads are separate.

Hoping for an answer before I call the dealer.

take the cap off, theres a peice attached to it that slides up and down (the float)......slide it up and down with your hand, it might just be a lil stuck. worked for me.
