painting rotors

I want to paint my rotors to hide the rust on them, I wanted to know if anyone had a creative idea on something to use to get a perfect circle when painting them.

I know you can use the blue painters tape but that may not come out to be a perfect circle.

any ideas

thanks

Why would you paint your rotors.. lol As soon as you hit the breaks the paint will scrap off.

Use a 1 inch painting brush so you can get that edge line on the rotor surface- that doesnt contact the pad so it needs color. Paint the edges of the outer rotor surface too-where the vents are- looks good
Let dry well, sandpaper off any paint from rotor surface and install
Any paint in the way is removed on test drive

You can clean the rotors with 120 grit wet/dry paper and some wd40 or water to remove old pad residue and makes surface fresh for new pads- wash with carb spray-brake cleaner afterwards- then do your painting
Do a pad bedding

I did the calipers and brackets black too- Duplicolor Caliper paint kit $10
Call them my Lil' Bimbo Brakes

just the center hub and the edges- not the part the pads touch
Many Hi performance brands now come with a special powder-coat paint on their exposed metal to keep nice and black- new looking for years and protects from salt and ozone

Its easier than I make it to be- we didnt even tape anything off- free hand paint the whole thing and dont sweat it
